I found this rendering on YFlove.net, and also found an interior shot of the center stack. These few pictures are really making me smile.

What do you make of the rendering? Do you think that it will have this general design?

http://www.autospies.com/news/2011-H...g-Sharp-43333/

Besides this rendering, www.yflove.net has real life spy shots of the Sonata that I'm posting. It seems that the spy shots hold true to it... to me, it looks like an updated last gen ES with MB CL550ized styling...
that looks cool imo.

see a bit of the ES350 in it, which would make sense.

Wheels look too small given the overall size of the car. Otherwise, it shows promise.

Not surprising. Hyundai/Kai is well known to copy the exterior styling of other brands' benchmark vehicles and best sellers.

At first glimpse of the first pic I thought the car got the Arabian desert protection plan - folks who take their cars on the highway get this thick coat of soap like substance put on most of the front of the car to protect it from the sand blasting effect of driving throught the desert at high speeds. Once done with the trip you just take a water hose to it and it's gone. I was obviosuly wrong and it happens that Hyundai is too cheap to have a proper camo for the car and resorted to a bunch of duct tape - cutting corners where ever possible.

Gotta see it in real life to make judgements - the interiror looks good tho the current version is already good enough. And of course then there's the issue of drivetrains and how it handles.

They wanna be big boys...lol

I respect Hyundai for everything they do. They are make cheap and reliable cars but I hate it when they confuse you with other brand on the road. I will never buy a Hyundai until they come up with their own design.

Then again sometimes originality (like the new TL) = FAIL

One of my colleagues recently bought a loaded 2009 Sonata as a commuter and it's not a bad car. He liked my 2008 TSX and decided to buy the same color scheme (black with a parchment-colored interior). Then I noticed how similar his interior was to mine - Hyundai clearly benchmarked Acura's interiors (the doors and center console are exactly 1st-gen TSX):

The more I'm in his car, the more I see where they saved money...the navigation's voice sounds like she's a freakin' robot and the quality of many of the materials is not on par with even the Chevy Malibus (I had a Malibu rental for a week).

And yes, I too think this new Sonata looks like a previous-gen Lexus ES (which is not necessarily a good thing). So is Hyundai getting better? Yes. Do they get kudos for originality? Not so much

Very nice!

If you look at the exterior, it looks nothing like other cars out there right now.

There is no cars right now that has that kind of aggresive looking headlight, and taillights. Very original.

But, I am pretty sure some haters will say that the new Sonata copied other cars just because they are a Hyundai....

They will try so hard to find slight resemblance of other cars, and when they do, Hyundia automatically copied them. What they dont realize is that if they use the same standards to other cars, THEY ALL RESEMBLE OTHER CARS IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER

Once again, I love the oversized yet attractive and aggresive looking headlight and the sharp looking taillights.

i think most of us do. most of us realize that designs, themes and cues are shared and used all over the board across different makers and models.

that said, i think it looks great.

but i can't agree with you if you say:

Yea, thats true, Koreans dont get respect in U.S.

Its partially due to the Korean War in which U.S. help us out by defeating the communist side. White ignorant Americans still think that South Korea is same as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, etc.

The only Koreans that getting love is the Korean girls, in which all White guys who has Asian-fetish fever loves anything thats an Asian hole. Just look how the American media portrays us Asians, Asian women are always sexual partner to White guys while, Asian men are either Nerdy asexual guy or Kung Fu master who saves the world but gets to go home with no girl.
