^ These! Other than the grille (which can be changed) that car looks fantastic. And with the addition of the LED headlights, what reason is there to buy the TLX over this?

I feel like no one really even cares about Acura anymore. If they didn't have the MDX, it would have gone away already as all the others are lackluster failed attempts at regaining market share.

If the 2016 Accord comes in 6MT EXL trim, I've found my next DD. I'd even preorder one if it came in 6MT V6 Touring.

These rims remind me of the last generation M6 rims. They look fantastic.

I can only imagine how cool that would look if the grill wasn't that chrome and instead was more of a "space grey" color.

It's just the 2012 Civic grille slapped onto the Accord. Took me awhile to recall where it came from...understandable, considering how forgettable the 2012 model was.

If it really is the Honda signature grille, then it will be used in all current gen. and also all future gen. Honda products.

Even without the wheels, I still think the Accord's styling looks better than the TLX's.

The visible exhaust tip is just icing.

Agreed. The chrome really highlights how strange the shape of the nose of the car is. To me, either car color or a darker blackish would look better.

I still think the current Sport is the best looking version of the 9G Accord. Disclaimer: as I have a 14 Sport, my assessment is clearly biased.

The 9G and now this refresh are probably the best looking Hondas that have been designed since the NSX. But I'd never own one because I have no interest in a NA 4-cyl CVT.

But they're making a great looking toaster.

any news on the important stuff other than exterior?

If this thing gets 8 dct and 9AT, i really don't see the point of buying ILX and TLX anymore considering the price difference.

I can back this up. The CRV drives great for a CVT.. It almost acts like a regular transmission too.

I think the 9AT was Acura only to keep Acura more "premium."

I'd like to see if the Sport comes with more goodies.. I love the looks, but it's just a regular LX underneath. I'd like to see a sunroof/proximity key/upgraded audio option.

Actually 2016 Pilot and the Euro CR-V already got the 9AT. I would be shocked if the next gen Odyssey doesn't get one.

I'd be surprised if the Accord V6 doesn't come with one. I doubt the DCT will come over but it would be beyond smart for Honda to amortize ZF's license fees over the sales of the Accord (excellent) over just the TLX (poor). Does the MDX have the 9AT as well? If not, it likely will soon.

Didn't know this either... So what you're saying is that Honda has already re-engineered the 2.4L block to accept the 9AT? If so, expect this transmission to show up on EVERY SINGLE HONDA PRODUCT very soon.

Edit: Hold on...the 9AT is only on the diesel motor, not the K series gas motor.

This I knew. I don't blame them though, it wouldn't sell well here at all. I probably wouldn't buy a 6MT CRV either.

Absolutely. It helps more for diesel than gas to keep the engine in the power band for longer. Diesel engines don't really like to rev and are slow to do so, a closer ratio gearbox with more gears will immensely help driveability for a diesel engine.

Here's a torque curve of the Honda 2.2L diesel engine:

From 1500-3500rpm the engine is making 220lbft (300Nm) of torque or more, while making 150hp from 3500-4200rpm. I guess the 9AT would definitely keep the engine in the right zone...

Plug-in Accord to be discontinued.

Civic Hybrid and Natural Gas to be discontinued at end of 2015.

Advancing Environment a Natural Fit in Honda Vehicle Lineup - Honda News

Advancing Environment a Natural Fit in Honda Vehicle Lineup

Jun 15, 2015

As we take major steps to further strengthen and align our product portfolio around the changing preferences of our customers, growth opportunities in the marketplace and the needs of society, we are rolling out incredible new products that are creating the strongest and most fuel efficient lineup in our history.

This effort is keyed to a new generation of powertrain technologies, including more fuel-efficient engines and transmissions and new hybrid systems. As a result, our high-volume products of today including Fit, Civic and Accord on the passenger car side and HR-V, CR-V, Pilot and Odyssey on the light truck side, are already achieving best-in-class fuel economy.

We will further advance this leadership with the launch this fall of an all-new 10th-generation Civic that will deliver fun-to-drive performance in concert with top-in-class fuel efficiency and safety. With two new engines on the new Civic, including our first turbo engine, we are targeting class-leading fuel economy for Civic, with EPA highway fuel economy a few ticks above 40 miles per gallon.

Due, in part to this ability to advance fuel economy through conventional engine technology, the Civic lineup will no longer include a hybrid or a natural gas model, as we will discontinue production of both of these products with the end of the 2015 model year.

Honda has promoted CNG-powered vehicles for many years. For most of the past 15 years we have been the only automaker with a dedicated CNG vehicle. Despite this commitment, the infrastructure for natural gas refueling and consumer demand remains a challenge. Production of the Civic Natural Gas model has been completed at our Indiana plant, but we will continue to provide a high level of service to our existing customers through CNG-certified Honda dealers.

The Civic Hybrid has played a very important role in helping promote customers' appreciation for hybrid technology and is presently the only hybrid variant of a mainstream compact sedan. For the future we will place our focus more on our two-motor hybrid system, where we feel we can meet the needs and expectations of customers for hybrids and achieve greater reduction of CO2 emissions.

We will not be offering a plug-in version of Accord going forward as we look toward the scheduled launch of a new dedicated plug-in model. But we will expand application of our innovative two- and three-motor hybrid systems in the coming years. The Accord Hybrid is already the most fuel-efficient 5-passenger sedan in America, and the new Accord Hybrid set to debut in early 2016 will raise the bar with the next-generation of Honda's two-motor hybrid system for even greater fuel economy and performance. Further, enhancements to production methods for the two-motor system will help lead to a strong increase in Accord Hybrid sales.

We are also working to advance electrified vehicles to meet the diverse needs and wants of environmentally conscious customers. We are developing an entirely new generation of vehicles starting from the introduction in 2016 of our next-generation fuel cell vehicle. This will be followed by an all-new battery electric model and the all-new plug-in hybrid model.

So, Honda is committed to offering vehicles with best-in-class fuel economy today through a new generation of powertrain technology. We're developing an entire new generation of electrified vehicles that will continue our leadership tomorrow. And in the process we are creating the strongest and most balanced vehicle lineup in our history.

We remain committed to our vision for more sustainable mobility, and we are excited to be introducing a fantastic lineup of products that are more fun and more fuel efficient than ever before.

Hmm..the EX seems appealing. I wonder if it will get the leather wrapped wheel as the current EX doesn't, but the Sport does.

Hmmm seems even more appealing now, maybe a 2016 will be in my future or a 2017. Sport "to get" 19s LX LED taillights.. Looks like Honda listens.

I think it is a downgrade from the current model. The smiling, chrome, weird headlighted front end. The tuner wheels, the busy rear end. The back end is the only thing i like but the whole thing is trying too hard. The current model is way more handsome in V6 EX-L and touring sedans. This thing looks like a cheap cheap mishmash car trying to be hot. Gotta say they ruined it like the camry was ruined (although not as good as accord to begin with).

TLX is way better looking than this thing, sexy understated and handsome. Even the jewel headlights look better. The neutered exhaust is fine in a sedan unless you are 12.

The neutered exhaust is fine in a sedan only if you are 70+.

LOL TLX looks awful.

Slightly better than 4G, that's about it.

And lots of people here shares the same opinion.
