Hennessey: VelociRaptor (Based on Ford F-150) News

Press release...

Hennessey Performance (HPE) has announced that it is offering its VelociRaptor SUV conversion. Based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, the team from HPE transforms SVT’s super crew cab pick-up truck into a full-sized sport-utility vehicle (SUV) with seating for up to 8 people.

“Over the past three years we have built nearly 400 upgraded Raptor trucks for enthusiasts around the world”, said Don Goldman, CEO of Hennessey Performance. “We are now very excited to be able to offer the VelociRaptor SUV to those who like the Raptor but want more seats and space.”

All of the factory Ford Raptor truck components and systems are kept in tact. At this time, Hennessey Performance has not yet had an opportunity to test the off-road capabilities of the VelociRaptor SUV. Thus, the company suggests that buyers should intend using this vehicle for on-road as well as light to moderate off-road duties. “Don’t plan on pre-running Baja or negotiating Rubicon with our SUV – that is not why we built it”, said company founder, John Hennessey. But, if you’re looking for the ultimate vehicle to drive from Aspen to Telluride in January, the VelociRaptor SUV would be perfect.”

The VelociRaptor SUV base price is $159,500 and production is going to be limited to just 30 units per year. The same 6.2L 411 bhp Ford V8 powers the entry level SUV while Hennessey also offers their VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade at an additional cost. Other optional upgrades include: Brembo front brake upgrade, larger wheels and tires, LED lighting upgrades, bespoke interior and electronic upgrades. Security and armoring systems are also available.

While vehicle weight is increased by approximately 600 lbs, the standard 411 bhp SUV is able to achieve 0-60 mph times of 7.5 seconds. Bumping power to 600 bhp with the VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade will drop the 0-60 mph time to 5.9 seconds. AMG G-Wagon and Range Rover owners beware.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV can be ordered directly from Hennessey Performance or through select Hennessey / Ford dealers.

Not sure I get it. So they made a raptor SUV, that isn't really a raptor at all. The whole point was to have an over powered serious off road truck. This is an an expedition with 600hp, so it's for posers. idk.

An expedition with 600 hp? You're an idiot. It's still a raptor with just one more row of seats.

It's more like the departed Excursion. I hope this doesn't give Ford any further ideas.

Texas-based tuner John Hennessey doesn't do subtle. To paraphrase his slogan, he makes fast cars faster. But in this case? He started with a Ford F-250 Lariat, and transformed it into what he's dubbed a VelociRaptor SUV.

It's not his first crack at the concept. The previous model was based on Ford's F-150 SVT Raptor, and the new base vehicle allows his creation to be bigger, if not badder, than its predecessor. As you'd expect, power gets a major boost, thanks to a beefy supercharger which takes output from a respectable 411 horsepower to either 600 or 650 horsepower, depending on options.

Oil-burners haven't been left out of the equation either. Diesel models, along with their 440 horses, will produce a brutal 800 pound-feet of torque.

No performance specs are available, but we'd guess any numbers will be impressive for a truck that boasts room for up to eight and cargo doors. Along with the go-fast bits, there will be a host of appearance options—including a bumper with an integrated LED light bar—and beefier wheels and tires. Wait time is currently at six months, so those hoping to have it in time for summer adventures are out of luck.

2016 VelociRaptor SUV packages will start at $159,500.

We know that Hennessey isn't camera shy, so video of this jurassic juggernaut in action is sure to surface soon. Stay tuned.

Hennessey®, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, has started production of its new VelociRaptor® 600. The Ford F-150 Raptor-based truck boasts a mountainous 672 lb-ft of torque and 558 bhp.

In a head-to-head drag race at Hennessey®'s test track, the pulling power of the VelociRaptor® saw it achieve a convincing win over the stock Raptor. The modified truck was quicker from the off and pulled away under hard acceleration to finish more than six truck lengths ahead of the stock model.

The additional power of the VelociRaptor® 600 makes the Hennessey® rapid off the line, but it's the additional 162 lb-ft torque that really makes the difference when under way. Hennessey®'s engineers boosted the stock Raptor's 510 lb-ft torque by a third to achieve 672 lb-ft of pulling power. The combined power and torque propel the 4×4 pick-up to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, with a quarter mile hit in just 12.9 seconds.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: "The VelociRaptor® has been our most popular vehicle for years, so with production of the third-gen truck now under way, we're anticipating building hundreds of models throughout 2022. The stock Raptor is a fabulously capable and very quick machine, so our customers love that we can enhance its power and performance to new levels."

The Hennessey® team of engineers install enhanced air induction, a high-capacity intercooler with blow off valve, and an upgraded engine-management system to the stock Raptor to boost performance of its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Many customers opt to make their VelociRaptor® even more imposing and robust VelociRaptor® front and rear bumpers with integrated LED lights, 20-inch Hennessey® wheels. The Off-Road upgrade also includes up to 37-inch off-road tires and a suspension levelling kit. Customers can also opt for massive six-piston Brembo front brakes to increase stopping power. All work is covered by a comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.

Hennessey® is the world's largest producer of modified Ford F-150 Raptors. Over the past 10 years, the company has built thousands of high-performance VelociRaptor® trucks for customers all over the world. With most owners opting for the performance upgrade plus the enhanced off-road package (bumpers, wheels, and off-road tires) the total price paid is typically in the region of $115,000 (which includes the stock Ford F-150 Raptor). To ensure exclusivity, production of the 2022 VelociRaptor® is limited to just 250 units.

Hennessey, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, has transformed the third-generation Ford F-150 into an immensely capable, go-anywhere, six-wheel drive pickup - the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6.

The modifications and enhancements go far beyond simply adding a third pair of wheels. The Hennessey engineers equipped the new truck with sophisticated Fox suspension and dual locking rear axles - adding an impressive 50 percent more tractive grip - to ensure the VelociRaptor dominates on- and off-road. The truck's uprated, turbocharged powertrain produces 558 bhp and 672 lb-ft of torque, which guarantees that the VelociRaptor's grunt matches its significant size.

Based on the latest third-generation Ford F-150 Raptor, the imposing Hennessey creation is significantly longer than the stock Raptor. The extension allows the fitment of an expansive 8-foot (2.4 meter) long load bed that boasts 45 percent more volume than the stock 5.5-foot (1.67-meter) bed. Hennessey has also raised the VelociRaptor to be several inches taller than standard through a combination of a three-inch lift, upgraded Hennessey 20-inch wheels and capable 37-inch off-road tires.

Hennessey is the world's largest producer of modified Ford F-150 Raptors having built thousands of its high-performance VelociRaptor trucks for customers around the globe. Taking these power-packed trucks to the extreme '6×6' stage is also second nature to Hennessey's engineers. Over the years, they've made a host of enormous, exclusive, and highly capable 6×6 trucks from the Mammoth 6×6 TRX, and Goliath 6×6 Silverado, to the latest Gen 3 VelociRaptor 6×6.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: "Everything is bigger and faster in Texas and our VelociRaptor 6×6 takes this concept to the extreme! Building on the capability, power, and presence of our VelociRaptor truck, our latest six-wheel drive offering will delight customers across the US and around the world with its power and go-anywhere abilities."

Priced from $399,950 - inclusive of the base Ford F-150 Raptor - the VelociRaptor 6×6 features uprated Fox suspension, locking rear axles, new front and rear bumpers, LED lights and a custom-made eight-foot load bed. Hennessey's engineers boosted the performance of Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with enhanced air induction, a high-capacity intercooler with blow-off valve, and an upgraded engine-management system.

Hennessey prides itself on the quality of its vehicles and workmanship and the VelociRaptor 6×6 benefits from a comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.
