I hate to say it, but Ford did a truly outstanding job on the design and look of this car.

A few more from the Toronto car show. Pictures don't do justice to this car. You have to see it up close to truly appreciate the beauty of the design.... and those headlights

Great pictures. Hopefully Ford makes the GT a true Halo car and takes cues from it in designing its lower tier models. Definitely a car to be excited about.

What has been seen can not be unseen! Makes you want to pull up a chair and sit there and look at it all day long. Set your alarm clock, otherwise you'll be hypnotized! For some reason I couldn't stop looking at it at the Toronto car show.

Must say tho, the silver looks more like a Lambo, while the blue is unmistakably Ford.

Only this thing couldnt hold a candle next to the LaFerrari Looks like ford is still crying over the f150 debacle lol. Though give ford credit for doing what they are doing. They have more balls than Honda.

Well, we knew it would be expensive, but did we know it would be REALLY expensive?

Ford GT to cost $400G

Ford’s new supercar will come with a supersize price.

Ford Performance director Dave Perciak confirmed at the Geneva Auto Show today that the mid-engine coupe will cost about the same as a Lamborghini Aventador, roughly $400,000, according to Motor Authority.

That would make the 600 hp two-seater the most expensive vehicle Ford has ever made by a wide margin. Its predecessor, the 2005 Ford GT, sold for $150,000.

Ford made 4,038 of those over a three year period, but Pericak says it’ll only build about 250 of the new GTs each year.

The car, which features a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and carbon fiber chassis will be manufactured for Ford by Canadian racing specialist Multimatic Motorsports beginning in late 2016.

Big price jump. I didn't realize the former GT was 150k, for some reason I was thinking they were barely sub-100k.

Hmmm, I love this car, but I'm not sure how well it can do at that price range.

They are only building 250 per year? That will sell regardless of the price. And this car has already gotten enough media coverage to be considered a success for overall Ford branding.

Seems overpriced compared to 650S and 458, even if it is CF chassis.

A little lame of Ford for not building the chassis (Multimatic is manufacturing the chassis), at least McLaren/Honda/Toyota/Ferrari/... build their own chassis's for their high end sports cars.
Even Chevy brought the C7 AL chassis fabrication into Bowling Green from Alcoa. Not only did Toyota fab the LF-A CF chassis, they also wound/weave the CF filament for it.
Wonder if Multimatic was involved with the design since they do racecar design/engineering?

When I first saw photos of this car in blue, I was like "well, it's okay..."

But seeing it in silver now? Wow. Well done, Ford! I have no idea why but i love it in that color, with the gun metal racing stripes

And dem rocket jet tail lights...

I think seeing the "LaFord" image made me appreciate this car even more- just shows that ford has a sense of humour, even if it can't touch the LaFerrari. Acura with the NSX just seem more like they have a stick up their asses. Won't release any specs, the unveiling was rather uninspiring, etc.

This is not the first time the Canadian company Multimatic builds a carbon fiber tub. The Aston Martin one-77 is one example. They have worked with Ford before on the Focus race car and the Mustang race car. Lots of references out there if you search google. Also the McLaren MP 4-12C has Multimatic designed dampers.

lol ya the price was confirmed a few days ago....I know it's gonna be fast but it's kinda weird to have a $400k car with a V6 engine in it......

+1, last V6 turbo exotic I can think of was the XJ220, sold poorly and don't attract used market prices like Ferrari's (ie F40).

The 959 was a different story, but gotta expect a flat 6 in any 911.

As much as I like the Ford GT, there are a atleast 15 other cars I'd rather have for 400k+ (Pretty sure these are going to be 500-600k OTD). I'm guessing this is rather meant for the collector who already has everything else vs. the more "average" supercar owner with 1 or 2 supercars.

@400k for a ford, I think it's more than just a super car, but not quite a hyper car. It must be something really special though.

I like this car soo much but i think Ford priced the GT out of its range.
Give me an Aventador.

Last model GT was a bargain.
