Pricing Announced
Chrysler Group Announces Pricing for 2013 SRT Viper Models
Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand’s flagship performance machine returns with more power and performance, superior craftsmanship, new technologies and creature comforts
Two new models include SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS
All-aluminum, mid-front 8.4-liter V-10 engine delivers 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world
Triple-digit weight reduction results in Viper best power-to-weight ratio
Dealer orders expected to open in mid-November 2012
September 10, 2012 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand today announced pricing for the two models of the all-new 2013 SRT Viper.
2013 SRT Viper
Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2013 SRT Viper model is $97,395 (excluding $1,995 destination)
The SRT Viper offers a blend of extreme performance and deliberate preservation of what has become the iconic DNA of the Viper to deliver a supercar that continues to bring the driver as close as possible to the machine
2013 SRT Viper GTS
MSRP for the 2013 SRT Viper GTS model is $120,395 (excluding $1,995 destination)
The SRT Viper GTS builds on the DNA of the SRT Viper model with more technologically advanced solutions, like two-mode active suspension, to allow this world-class GTS to find new capabilities on the track while also opening up its envelope as a more premium and mature evolution of the classic, extreme performance formula
Under the hood of both models is the all-aluminum, mid-front 8.4-liter V-10 engine that delivers 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world.
Both SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS models offer new interior and exterior designs incorporating premium materials. New exterior surfaces with aerodynamically functional details are beautifully integrated into the high-tech carbon fiber and aluminum skin, which helps produce a triple-digit weight reduction and a Viper best power-to-weight ratio.
On the inside, designers and engineers strived to rethink all touch points; and upgrade all material appointments and technologies.
Production of the iconic supercar will begin at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit – the home for Viper since 1995 – in November 2012. Dealer orders are expected to begin in mid-November 2012.
About SRT
The Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand uses a successful product development formula featuring five proven hallmarks: awe-inspiring powertrains; outstanding ride, handling and capability; benchmark braking; aggressive and functional exteriors and race-inspired and high-performance interiors to remain true to its performance roots.
The SRT lineup in the 2013 model year features five vehicles that are world-class performance contenders and bring the latest in safety technologies and creature comforts. The Chrysler 300 SRT8, Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, Dodge Charger SRT8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 are joined by the SRT flagship Viper and Viper GTS models which are making their highly anticipated return to the high-performance sports car market.

A bit more expensive than I was expecting but it's priced competitively with the ZR1.

MSRP for the 2003 SRT10 was $80k and the MSRP went up to $86k for the 2008 model.

2008: http://autos.aol.com/cars-Dodge-Viper-2008/overview/
Now the replacement starts at $97k with an optional package that starts at $120k. That's a price increase between $17k and $40k from a model 10 years old. Quite substantial IMO.

As far the increase....you are getting a MUCH more refined car than the pure chainsaw of yesterday. Especially the interior and quality of materials.
The reviews have been surfacing this week...and they are all good.

2013 Dodge SRT Viper “Moparized”
From Supercars: http://www.supercars.net/cars/5850.h...DqzAv4kfy5E.99
The new 2013 SRT Viper isn’t just the ultimate super car. It’s also the ultimate super car for accessories and performance parts, thanks to Viper owners who love to customize their Snake. The “Moparized” 2013 SRT Viper is a showcase for what may be done with a little imagination and a lot of Mopar products.
The race-inspired, customized yellow SRT Viper utilizes many lightweight carbon fiber parts, including underhood, with an exposed carbon fiber performance cross X-Brace trimmed in a satin finish, with a decal-cut Viper “Stryker” logo in the center of the unique X-Brace. Due to its carbon fiber construction, the X-Brace is close to 50 percent lighter than the factory version, with the same strength and functional stiffness. The engine cover is also constructed of carbon fiber and aluminum, and emblazoned with the SRT logo, as is the prototype aluminum oil filler cap. Performance is also improved by a carbon fiber aero package, and for handling, Mopar coil springs aid in suspension performance.
The full black interior includes yellow accents throughout, offering subtle touches that bring the outside color to the inside. Sabelt hard-shell seats, which include a six-point safety harness, carry the yellow exterior color on the back. The seat edging is black Katzkin leather with yellow accents in the perforations, giving a subtle, tailored feel to the interior. Further touches are added with a Mopar billet aluminum shift knob and billet aluminum HVAC bezels and controls.
A fun and unique appointment is the carbon fiber bulkhead satchel, with a universal integrated quick-release camera mount, for owners who like to track their adventures with the security and convenience of a mounted camera inside the vehicle. The Viper is also modified with bright, polished chrome door-sill guards that carry the Viper logo and a race-inspired, sand-blasted aluminum Mopar bright pedal kit, with the Viper logo etched in the pedals. The footrest pedal also carries the “Stryker” logo, adding to the many surprising touches. Exterior upgrades include optional “Track Pack” wheels finished in hyperblack, a front tow hook and an LED fog lamp kit.

I LOVE that there is a dedicated "screen off button"
I wish all cars with screens had that.

I'd rather have a ZR1 also - in fact I would not even shop this Viper. I am not a fan of the look and style. Not sure why, hmm.. it just looks a bit "watered-down" is the best I can describe it. Obviously the performance isn't. But the styling for me, not a fan.
Also, would love to own a first-gen GTS with some of the basic mods (pipes/exhaust/headers/etc)
