Yup

Honda/Acura used to be about simplicity and they could turn something simple into something unique and fun and they actually put effort into performance while keeping it reliable. Integra had LS, GS, GSR and Type R. Each trim is very different from each other. No competitors could offer the same level of performance, reliability and fun factor in that segment.
The same can be said about prelude, civic and more than half of Honda/Acura's lineup.

Today, it is just a badge with some new wheels and new addon lip.

I have no problem if they said sedans specifically initially. It's a well known fact that the Acura sedans were aging and incompetent for a while.

With that said, let's see how the updated ILX and new TLX will do.

Ironically the guy has never even seen one in real life, or touched a woman, but idk if the two are related or not.

Why would the American Govt give a handout to a Japanese based company?

Comparing a Japanese company to an American one isn't fair. After all, the Japanese government has been know to bail out Japanese companies (see also Sony, Toshiba, etc.).

Remember also, the American car market was hot garbage (Chevy Cobalt, Chrysler Sebring) during the recession. American companies needed a cash infusion because they were terrible.

Well part of that, but more so the huge union benefits/retirement packages

But the super fantabulous power plenum is driving consumers to the showroom.

no the super cheap starting price for the i4 is driving consumers to the showroom.

The take rate at Sierra Acura is something like 10 4 banger to 1 V6.

I4 tech, then I4 base, then FWD V6 Base and no one wants any other trim of TLX.

While that might not be true everywhere, but if i remember correctly Acura sold more TL than TSX... and now Acura can't even sell a $40k sedan anymore, only at 35k.

So...does this car still define mediocrity or have I missed out in the past week?

Any reason to actually buy this car yet?

Yes i could.

I can get some serious discounts for Acura even including the hard to negotiate TLX 2.4 tech, and yet i still don't buy one.

I have sent so many people there to buy MDX... i think i am close to getting one for free.

Red text implied. And the reviews are in that the i4 is a compelling value and a relatively fun drive.

Buy what you like and move along, its not that hard folks.

nah, I'd rather put down other car companies to make me feel better about the car I own (read: financed).

My accord was paid for many years ago... i don't feel anything about owning it...

It is just an appliance that is sitting there, like my fridge except it is depreciating on a daily basis.

Yeah, that's it. Since we are all just "put[ing] down" the TLX, why don't you test your little theory and do a poll in the 5G section on how many of those cars are financed?

That's how I feel about the Lexus. It's 100% mine, comfortable, cheap to maintain, drives well; but it's an appliance.

The FR-S is almost paid off as well. I remember talking to the GM the day I was picking up the FR-S. I told him that if Honda were to come out with another S2k, or a competitor to the FR-S/BRZ, the FR-S would be traded in immediately. I'm a Honda guy at heart, but they make nothing for me at this point in my life. Now, if I were a 50 year old woman, then yes, the 2.4 TLX would probably be right up my alley.

Let me guess, you can't afford to purchase the TLX (based on your grammar skills, thinking the US government bailout would extend to Japanese car makers, etc., I have to assume your job qualifications limit your ability to make money for the purchase of a new car), hence for ALL the verbal blow jobs you keep giving it, you don't actually get one. And all you can really do, because you can't put your money where you mouth is, is talk a bunch of shit and progressively level up your douche level.

TL;DR Keep on keeping on troll2k1!

what is your fascination with me? sheesh. it's creepy how much text you devote to me personally.

financially speaking, there are more important things at this stage in my life then having the latest greatest car to drive to the office in. it sure is nice not having a car payment.

Weird, I have no car payments AND the latest, greatest car. Maybe learn how to manage your money better and you can buy your vanilla dream car!
