The MSRP price range for the TSX is from $30.5K to $39K, whereas the ILX is from $27K to $29K.

What similar group of buyers ?!

Different price range = different group of buyers.

If by that you mean Potential Civic owners that want to buy a car with over priced leather, sure.

TSX was entry level, and when it was, it started $26,500. Same group of buyers. Please stop pretending the TLX isn't a success if it doesn't outsell 2 popular models.

Ok, if you want to roll back the time.

The TSX still wasn't then. It was the Integra, then the RSX. Also the EL/CSX in the Canadian market.

The reason why Acura decided to axe the Integra/RSX was an attempt to move the Acura brand more upscale by incurring a higher entry cost into the Acura brand.

However, the plan didn't quite work out well for Acura.

As a result, Acura introduces the ILX in order to lower the entry cost requirement to win back Acura buyers.

The TSX is always one vehicle class up from the Integra/RSX/ILX.

Also, $26,500 back then doesn't equate to $26,500 in today.

The TSX today starts at $30.5K, and the TLX today starts at $31K.

The ILX today starts at $27K.

Question Return of the Type S

Once the TLX sedan is introduced this fall -- replacing both the TL and TSX in the lineup -- Acura will be in a product-launch lull.

All its volume products will have been launched in the last 3 years, so other than the upcoming NSX supercar, the brand will be carrying over existing product for several more years.

Of course, there will be midcycle changes, which could include installation of new 9- and 8-speed transmission technologies, but the sheet metal is going to remain relatively the same across the lineup for several years.

Acura also is studying bringing some sporting flair back to the rest of the lineup with the Type S designation, but how it plans to increase its vehicles' performance is being determined.

Here is a look at Acura's future product plans.
ILX: A redesign of the Honda Civic derivative comes in spring 2017. Whether Acura chooses to use a Honda Earth Dreams engine or switch to 1 of the new turbocharged mills is undetermined. The current ILX is critically underpowered, so Acura may vote for the turbo.

The Acura TLX will replace the TL and TSX sedans.

TLX: The redesigned 2015 TLX mid-sized sedan, unveiled at the 2014 New York auto show, will replace the TL and TSX sedans in the U.S. lineup. The TLX shares a 2.4-liter base engine with the Honda Accord, but the TLX's mill has higher compression ratios, a 2-stage intake and a modified exhaust. The base TLX engine generates 206 hp. It's 1.5 seconds quicker in 0 to 60 mph than the outgoing TSX. The TLX's 290-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine is shared with the MDX and RLX and gets 5 mpg better highway fuel economy than the outgoing TL. Both the 4- and 6-cylinder cars will have standard 4-wheel steering; the V-6 has optional Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, or SH-AWD. It goes on sale this fall, with pricing expected to be released closer to launch.

RLX: Redesigned in summer 2013. A hybrid version of the sedan was to arrive in dealerships this spring but has been delayed until late 2014.

NSX: Acura's sports car will be as much about technology as performance when it arrives in the 1st half of 2015. Instead of a monster engine, the NSX will have a compact, direct-injection V-6 combined with a lithium ion battery pack for power. The Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system uses 2 integrated drive units at the rear wheels connected to a motor-generator that delivers power. Regenerative brakes will capture electricity and then deliver torque to the outside wheel -- while absorbing negative torque from the inside wheel -- as the car goes through a corner. Development issues with the new-generation hybrid may delay the launch.

RDX: Redesigned in spring 2012. Expect the next version of the crossover in calendar 2018, with a midcycle change in spring 2015.

MDX: Redesigned in summer 2013. Expect the next version in calendar 2019, with a midcycle change in mid-2016.

Lexus - Here comes the RC-F!

Infiniti - Here comes the Eau Rouge!

Acura - Uhh, we were thinking, maybe, if it works out, we might kinda put a "Type-S" badge on a TLX...someday. And, well, maybe, we might put some other stuff on it too!

Thumbs up AutoNews

Honda Motor Co.'s April-June operating profit rose 7% from a year earlier to 198 billion yen ($1.94 billion), as lower sales in the United States were offset by costs cuts and the company's stronger focus on Asian markets.

Net income rose 20% to 146.5 billion yen, Honda said today. Sales rose 5% to 2.99 trillion yen.

Sales in Japan were bolstered by back-orders from a rush of buying that preceded a sales tax hike on April 1, while model changes boosted sales in China, India and Indonesia, the company said today. That offset flagging sales in Thailand, where political turmoil has hurt business, and a sales drop this year in the United States, where its average sales incentive per vehicle has been on the increase.

Honda is boosting sales in emerging markets to help reduce its reliance on North America, which accounts for almost half of revenue. Honda has introduced cars tailored for China, India and Indonesia since last year, betting the models will take share from rivals including Volkswagen AG and Toyota Motor Corp.

"India and Indonesia have been very strong," said Kota Yuzawa, an auto analyst at Goldman Sachs Group. "The recent aggressive investment in products for these markets are starting to pay off."

Lower N.A. profit

In North America, Honda reported 67.5 billion yen in operating profit last quarter, falling from 71.9 billion yen a year earlier. U.S. sales fell 1% in the 1st 6 months this year, dragged down by the Accord sedan and Acura models including the ILX and TSX, according to market researcher Autodata Corp.

Honda from April 1 elevated Acura to a division within the company, giving it dedicated management, marketing and other resources. Acura is struggling to boost U.S. deliveries amid competition from bigger luxury brands. Acura should see faster growth from August with the arrival of the new TLX sport sedan, the division's U.S. chief, Mike Accavitti, said in an interview in July.

Among key models Honda introduced this year to the U.S. is the new Fit, which is being built at a new plant in Mexico. Honda began shipping the car to U.S. dealerships in June, even as the magazine Consumer Reports said deliveries had been scheduled to begin in mid-April.

The company is counting on the model to grab market share from the Chevrolet Sonic hatchback and Ford Fiesta.

Europe loss narrows

The operating loss in Europe narrowed to 1.49 billion yen from 9.7 billion yen loss a year earlier, even as the region has shown signs of bottoming out. The company will halt production at 1 of the 2 production lines at the Swindon plant in the U.K. from autumn, in anticipation that it won't see any growth in Europe in the next two to three years, it said in March.

In Japan, operating profit was little changed at 62.1 billion yen. Deliveries jumped in the quarter, helped by the new Fit and back orders from the rush buying before the sales tax rise in April. Though Fit sales rose, Honda this month recalled all of the cars and the Vezel hybrid models it has sold in Japan since last year over a software flaw causing unintended acceleration.

The call-back -- the 4th for the Fit and the 2nd for Vezel -- crimps Honda's plan to boost Japan deliveries by 21% to 990,000 units. The Fit is Honda's top-selling model in Japan and about 2/3 of the sales are hybrids.

"The Fit and Vezel are key models for Honda in Japan," Masataka Kunugimoto, an analyst with Nomura, wrote in a report this month. Honda's sales target in Japan "will be a challenge, given the time it will take dealers to sort out product recalls and possible delays to the launch of new vehicles, especially hybrids."

Honda, which started to sell its N-series mini vehicles since 2011, saw minicar sales rise 7.8% this year, according to Japan Mini Vehicles Association. Minicars, with engines smaller than 0.66 liters, account for more than 40% of new-car sales in Japan, thanks to lower prices and taxes.

China demand

In China, Honda's sales extended gains last quarter, as a consumer backlash eased over a territorial dispute between Japan and China. Last year, its China deliveries rose to a record, fueled by the Jade wagon and Crider sedan, which Honda says are the company's 1st models tailored for the Chinese market.

Sales of the Accord -- which until 3 years ago was the top-selling midsized sedan in China -- slumped this year, as the initial versions of the car were more expensive than Nissan's Teana and Toyota's Camry.

In late February, Honda pushed out a stripped-down Accord that started at about 180,000 yuan ($29,000), compared with more than 200,000 for earlier versions. Honda expects to sell 900,000 vehicles this year and double annual sales in China to 1.3 million units in the 3 years through 2015.

In Asian markets excluding Japan, operating profit rose 21% to 65.3 billion yen, as deliveries surged in India and Indonesia on new models.

Honda sales rose 40% in April-June quarter to about 40,000 units in India, helped by diesel versions of its City and Amaze cars. The carmaker is counting on the 7-seater, multi- purpose vehicle Mobilio introduced this month to further boost deliveries. In Indonesia, sales rose 68% to more than 82,000 vehicles in the 1st half of the year, with more than half of sales from Mobilio, which qualifies for the government's new low-cost green car subsidizing program.

Forecast raised

Honda raised its forecasts for revenue and operating profit, after revising its currency projections to 101 yen to the dollar and 136 yen per euro, versus the previous estimate for 100 yen and 135 yen, respectively.

Net income will probably climb to 600 billion yen ($5.9 billion) in the year ending March 31, the company said. That compares with the 595 billion yen the company previously forecast.

Honda is doing just fine.

Acura is not doing well anywhere on this planet and if Honda does not know the obvious reasons why it is not doing well, they might as well just get rid of this brand since it really does not serve as real purposes.

Off topic, TSX69, do you have links showing your 2014 RLX and 1992 NSX? Just noticed you have those cars in your signature. Thanks!

Arrow Pics

The cars are pretty much stock so nothing special to look at. I do not have any current pics of the NSX so here is an older 1. I removed the red H emblems & replaced them with the Acuras; the stock rims have been put back on.

The only thing done to the RLX is tinted the windows. Also had to get that front plate bc the dealership went ahead & installed the frame holder & taking it off would leave me with 2 holes in the bumper.

Unwarranted alarmism considering the MDX and RDX. But the Acura sedans need help.

At the rate they're going, might as well. I mean that ILX couldn't have been an easier rebadge/parts bin raid, and to their credit I think they managed the outside right, but everything else...yikes.

Nice rides man. Those TE37's look great on the NSX!

Did you photoshop the RLX photo or are those lights really that bright...?

+1.

As I've been saying, the LEAST Acura could have done is to make the ILX a smaller, but sportier Accord. At the very least it should be equipped with 2.4L 190hp ED engine, 6MT/CVT, LED lights, lane watch, etc. All starting at $26k.

Lightbulb July 2014

08/01/2014 - TORRANCE, Calif.
Honda Accord posts best July sales in 5 years
Honda CR-V mints all-time July record
Acura MDX posts best July sales in four years, setting a new monthly record
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported July 2014 Honda and Acura vehicle sales of 135,908 units. The Honda division posted sales of 123,428 units in July while Acura sold 12,480 units in the same period. Year-to-date American Honda sales reached 875,344 units.

Honda
In a month of bests, Accord, the brand's top-selling model, finished its best July in 5 years, CR-V posted its best July sales ever and the all-new Fit had its best month of the year so far.
Accord had its 7th straight month above 30,000 sales with 35,073 July sales, up 11.3 percent.
CR-V, the nation's best-selling utility vehicle through June, broke a July record for the 2nd consecutive year, bringing its year-to-date sales to 28,522, up 4.8 percent.
With dealer supplies continuing to build, the all-new 2015 Fit posted its strongest monthly sales so far this year with 5,115 units, up 1.3 percent vs. July 2013 and up 38.3 percent over June 2014 sales.
"The CR-V continues to cement its place as America's favorite and best-selling SUV with yet another record month of sales," said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager. "Combined with Accord, which is on its way to become the most popular car in the U.S. for a 2nd straight year, Honda once again has the vehicles of choice in 2 of the biggest market classes."

Acura
Overall Acura sales reflect a virtual sell out of prior TL and TSX models as the company prepared for launch of the 2015 TLX line of luxury performance sedans, which is now underway nationwide. MDX, America's all-time best-selling 3-row luxury SUV, was the brand's best-selling model, besting a year-old July record.
All-new 2015 TLX is arriving at dealers now.
MDX July sales rose 13.2 percent on sales of 6,283 units, setting a new July record and combined with RDX, set a new July record for light trucks.
"Our July sales were definitely impacted by a lack of sedan availability as we sold out of TSX and TL," said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager. "We're confident that the all-new TLX luxury performance sedan, arriving at dealers now, will quickly remedy the situation and drive Acura sales growth through the 2nd half of the year."

There's a lack of availability for the ILX and RLX too?

Sold 7 ZDX's? Didn't know they were still available.

It's most likely a self-fulfilling prophecy/cycle.

People not buying ILX and RLX - > low demand -> let's make less of them -> low supply -> not too many choices for colors and trims - > even less people buying -> even less being made -> less people buying

And the loop goes on.

That is maybe the logic the Honda inc is using but the RLX is s dud because compared to other cars in its class it's inept. Bad pricing for what it offers. It came out with a FWD drive-train where others in its class are RWD or AWD. The styling is bland. The amenities if offers are middling at best. There is just nothing about the RLX that would compel someone to buy. The ILX is underpowered and has that economy feel on the inside. Acura now that it is its own division should just scrap the ILX or make it more premium with increased power. The RLX needs to be overhauled at the MMC.

While working to revive its sedan sales, Acura created a task force last spring charged with overhauling everything from product development and manufacturing to purchasing.

Led by Honda North America Executive Vice President Erik Berkman, the Acura Business Planning Office was given a free hand by bosses in Japan. It is still working on a blueprint.

Berkman told Automotive News during a media event here last week that the new Acura planning office in Ohio was born from a consensus among senior Honda executives worldwide that the Acura brand needed better coordination, organization and strategy.

Part of Acura's original mission was to act as a home for Honda owners seeking to graduate into more premium vehicles. That is largely still the case today, as shown by Acura's customer base, Berkman said.

"Long term, that may not be the ideal positioning or approach," Berkman said.

Among the issues being considered is Acura's brand image. The company is taking a long-term view of the role and identity of Acura in the marketplace, Berkman said.

"We may have some work to do to define what our brand values are, what we represent and what we stand for -- and make that crystal clear," Berkman said. "We have a consensus that we need to identify the direction, be clear about it, and then march forward."

RLX sales. How long will acura drag out the sales of it until they redesign it. If the RL is any indication we will have to endure it for some time to come.

There is just nothing about the RLX that would compel someone to buy. The ILX is underpowered and has that economy feel on the inside. Acura now that it is its own division should just scrap the ILX or make it more premium with increased power. The RLX needs to be overhauled at the MMC.
FWD, brand image, and styling are the biggest issues of the RLX. However, for me, I think amenities isn't that much of an issue. Even the base RLX offers LED headlights, moonroof, multi-view rear cam, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, heated seats, powered steering column, ELS audio system, home link, etc. Many of these would cost extra for other cars in this segment. This is why I feel that, there's a lot of room for Acura to create a true base trim with a price tag of around $40k.

At $50k for a base RLX right now, people would look beyond the feature list of the RLX, and simply question why a FWD bland looking RLX would cost that much. They would rather spend that money on a more prestigious brand, such as the BMW 5 series or MB E Class. It's also worth mentioning that the likes of Audi A6 and Lexus GS have a lower starting price than the RLX.

For me, Acura needs to fix the RLX styling. Then offer a "true" base model that is still better equipped than others in the segment, while keeping the starting price at $39k. The current base RLX should be at $44k, etc.

The interior of the RLX is also very nice and ride comfort is right up there with most cars in this segment based on my test drive.

Acura is launching its new luxury sedan -- embarking on the biggest marketing campaign in its history -- without the help of broadcast prime time TV.

The American Honda division will promote the TLX with a robust campaign that includes a significant investment in digital video. Mike Accavitti, who in the spring took on the role of senior VP and general manager of the new Acura Division, said more than 1/3 of the campaign's overall budget is dedicated to digital, with Facebook being a big piece of the equation.

While Acura has already been beefing up its digital and social media marketing, for the TLX launch it's investing more in content creation, generating bite-sized videos designed to target different types of consumers. On Facebook, Acura will run a massive "road block," with TLX videos reaching 100% of users, Mr. Accavitti said. It will also do a takeover on major web portals like Yahoo and MSN.

Mr. Accavitti declined to provide details on how much Acura is spending on the campaign or on specific platforms other than to say it is the biggest campaign in the company's history. Last year, the brand spent $170 million on measured media, according to the Ad Age DataCenter.

Of course, TV is still a significant part of Acura's marketing plan, with more than half of the campaign's budget dedicated to the traditional screen. It's important to note that some of what Acura considers "TV," includes long-form, high-quality content on platforms like Hulu and Crackle. The brand's TV buys also include spots airing within the NFL, some late-night and top cable networks, including ESPN's "SportsCenter."

"It's still too early to launch a car without TV," said Ed Beadle, senior marketing manager of the Acura Division.

Still, it decided to stay away from broadcast prime time. Mr. Beadle said there has been a meaningful change in media consumption behavior. As the brand evaluated who is actually buying its cars, execs saw it is those customers who are highly engaged in mobile.

For that reason, Acura has been the exclusive sponsor of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" on Crackle. Acura signed on for 4 more seasons of the show in May. Mr. Seinfeld has created custom content for Acura to run before and during the web series.

The TLX campaign will kick off on Aug. 17 with the TV spot, "My Way," featuring a Sid Vicious rendition of the iconic song, as well as eight additional 15-second spots. The spot was designed to capture the passion of Acura's design, development and manufacturing engineers as they built a car they wanted to drive, Mr. Accavitti said. The campaign carries the theme, "it's that kind of thrill."

Acura worked with Mullen LA on the creative, while MediaVest is its media agency.

The company has also teamed up with the New Yorker for what it is calling "Thrillustrations," which will run in the magazine and are shareable on social media.

This is the 1st major campaign from the auto maker since it was split into its own division. Previously, American Honda separated roles by function, rather than brand, with Mr. Accavitti overseeing product planning and national marketing for both Honda and Acura.

Lightbulb August 2014

09/03/2014 - TORRANCE, Calif.
Honda Accord sets all-time monthly record with 51,075 units sold – up 32.5% in August
Honda Division sales reach 151,551, just 263 units shy of second-best month in history
New Acura TLX drives heavy dealer traffic in its first weeks on the market
Acura ILX has best-ever August sales, rising 5.7% for the month
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported August 2014 Honda and Acura vehicle sales of 167,038 units, an increase of 0.4 percent versus August of last year. The Honda division posted the third highest monthly sales result its 44-year history, on sales of 151,551 vehicles in August while Acura posted sales of 15,487 units in the same period. Year-to-date American Honda sales reached 1,042,382 units.

Honda
Accelerating its strong summer sales performance, the Honda brand topped 150,000 units in a single month for only the third time in its history, as Accord led the way selling at an all-time record pace in August. [The all-time record of 153,104 units was set in the midst of a severe gas price hike in May 2008.]

51,075 Accords were sold in August, an all-time monthly record and an increase of 32.5 percent. It was the eighth-straight monthly gain for Accord.
Odyssey also showed strength in August, with 12,488 units sold for a gain of 12.9 percent.

"The fundamental strengths of the Honda brand are on full display as the Accord strengthened its position as the best-selling car uniquely driven by retail sales to individual buyers," said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. "Our other core models, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey are also performing well and continue to drive our retail sales leadership in 2014. And the early market response to the redesigned 2015 Fit is a strong indicator of great things to come as supplies improve," added Conrad.

Acura
With the new Acura TLX arriving at dealers across the country last month, enthusiastic customers gave Acura dealers much to cheer about in August, as the new luxury performance sedan sold nearly as fast as dealers could unload them from transport trucks. While TLX supplies continue to ramp up, the best-selling MDX continued to set a near-record pace, and ILX enjoyed its best August on record.

TLX went on-sale mid-August and is driving heavy dealer traffic to dealerships nationwide. The great majority of these early units were 3.5-liter V6 models as the 2.4-liter 4 cylinder began arriving later in the month and V6 SH-AWD models just starting to ship.

With supplies improving, the Acura ILX posted its best ever August result on sales of 1,798 units, an increase of 5.7 percent.

"With TLX less than a month on the market, our dealers are reporting incredible showroom traffic with customers trying to buy a TLX before we can get it on the dealer lot," said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager. "Customer interest is the strongest we’ve seen on a new model launch, and we’re just now starting to deliver the highly-rated TLX 4-cylinder and V6 SH-AWD models."

I don't think Honda can keep up with that 51k figure...not enough capacity to do so. It's a one-time thing I think.

The TLX only had 2/3rd of the month of sales. I also think most of those were the V6 FWD model. The I4 model just arrived not too long ago, and I'm not sure if AWD model is available or not yet. I also think Acura needs time to up the production and fill the dealers with enough cars so that customer have choices (i.e. trims, colors, etc) to choose from. As such, I think we won't see a good representation until early November when the October sales figures are out?

That's quite a ramp-up, really stresses the supply chain.

Agree it may take some time to sort through all the models and combo's. Figure they will sell 4K+ TLX's in September with the low pricing.

At this moment, the only 4-door sedan worth buying from Acura is the TLX.

Thus the TLX sales figure will bound to be good.

ya the TLX is a solid offering in the market at a very good price. I think the I4 model is good enough to steal sales from loaded midsize v6/turbo 4 sedans. A lot of these higher power trims start at $30k and go to $35k. The TLX I4 is right in the mix at $31k or $35k.

The TLX I4 is down on power, but it seems like the 8-DCT is able to make use of the engine's limited output well. Would like to see some test results but performance wise it might match the likes of Sonata 2.0T, Fusion 2.0T, while just falling short behind Accord, Camry and Altima. But in return, you get a nicer interior, a quieter, more refined ride, and some extra features.

A decade ago, I ended up in my 04 TL by way of the exact scenario above. I shopped loaded V6 Camry, V6 Accord, Maxima, etc. and then somehow realized an Acura TL was pretty much the same price. It suddenly became a no-brainer.

New Acura and Honda Products Fuel Surge in September Automobile Sales

10/01/2014 - TORRANCE, Calif.
  • Hot new Acura TLX powers an 18.8 percent division increase with 3,884 September sales
  • Acura RDX posted its best-ever September with sales of 3,230, rising 6.9 percent for the month and helping Acura trucks to its best September on record
  • New Honda Fit achieves best September ever on sales of 6,628 units, up 66.5 percent
  • Honda CR-V also sets new September record, rising 10.6 percent on sales of 23,722

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported September 2014 Honda and Acura vehicle sales of 118,223 units, an increase of 12.0 percent versus September of last year. The Honda division had its best September since 2007 with sales of 104,391 vehicles, while Acura posted sales of 13,832 units in the same period. Acura trucks posted its best-ever September, rising 6.8 percent vs. 2013. Year-to-date total American Honda sales reached 1,160,605 vehicles.

Honda

The Honda brand showed considerable strength across its broad lineup in September, with nearly every model gaining for the month and two models—Fit and CR-V—setting new September records. Overall, the Honda brand was up 11.2 percent, the division's best post-recession September – since 2007.
  • The outgoing 2014 CR-V enjoyed its best-ever September, with sales of 23,722 yielding a 10.6 percent increase for the month. The new 2015 CR-V, featuring enhanced styling, a new powertrain and a host of safety features, went on-sale today.
  • The new 2015 Honda Fit, now produced in North America, surpassed its popular predecessor by posting a new September record with sales of 6,628, an increase of 66.5 percent over the same period in 2013.
  • Honda Accord gained sharply for the ninth straight month, rising 30.9 percent on sales of 32,956 units.
  • Odyssey also showed strength with an increase of 13.7 percent, posting sales of 8,769 units in September.

"With all core Honda models now made in North America the Honda brand is continuing to gain strength with American car buyers," said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager. "And with the redesigned 2015 Honda CR-V going on sale today we expect our momentum to continue to grow as step-by-step we reinforce our light truck lineup."

Acura
Less than two months on the market and without full supply of the three-model lineup at dealerships, the all-new 2015 Acura TLX luxury performance sedan sparked an 18.8 percent sales surge for the luxury brand, boosting division sales to 13,832 for September over the same month in 2013. TLX sales were second only to the Acura MDX within the entire division, followed by another record performance by the RDX, with the luxury SUVs pushing Acura truck sales to a new September record.
  • The hot-selling new TLX posted sales of 3,884 in September to become Acura's best-selling sedan and second best-selling vehicle, already approaching segment leaders in only its first full month on the market.
  • ILX sales were also up in September, adding 7.4 percent with sales of 1,464 units.
  • Acura truck sales set a new September record, rising 6.8 percent on sales of 8,097 vehicles.
  • Acura's RDX rose 6.9 percent to post its best-ever September for the brand on sales of 3,230 units.
  • MDX sales increased 7.2 percent with 4,864 units sold in September, continuing to solidify its place as the best-selling three-row luxury SUV in America.

"With the MDX and RDX as the best one-two punch in the luxury SUV segment, the TLX is proving to be the knockout punch we've been looking for in the luxury sedan arena," said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager. "The TLX is attracting so much attention online and showroom traffic at our dealers that we don't yet know the car's true potential."

187 RLX's sold in Sept

12,854 ILX's sold year to date. Not going to hit their (revised) 30,000 sales goal. They won't even get close to the 20,430 they sold in 2013 at this rate.

"We're looking to sell about 30,000 units a year, and we're probably closer to 22 or 24 right now," Mendel said, speaking of the annual sales rate. "We're hitting two-thirds of our expectations, but we're growing every month and catching on more."

TLX on track to do close to 50,000 a year. Success! Finally.

50K TLXes is not quite where the TSX+TL volume was in the better days -they need closer to 60-70K/yr to call it a success.
