Swapping out 40GB HDD

Has anyone tried to swap out their HDD for a SSD? The pictures of the Toshiba HDD that people have posted uses a PATA/IDE connector so the options for a replacement SSD is extremely limited. Has anyone replaced their OEM drive even if it was with another OEM drive? Can you just clone the original drive over? I'm thinking that it's a good idea to backup the original drive for when it fails. I doubt the regular spinning HDD that Acura uses will last more than 8-10 years. It would suck to lose the whole entertainment and navigation system just because of HDD failure.

I think someone on the TL side did a swap but not with an SSD. It should improve boot-up and performance.
