TL: NAV clock reads 0:00

NAV clock reads 0:00
I have not seen this exact issue on any previous thread.
I have a 99 TL w/ nav, and recently, the clock (on the nav screen) would just read 0:00 when I started the car. If I go to the set clock page, it will show the correct time, but that time will be frozen when I exit the clock set page. The time will not update. What is funny is that if I stay on the clock set page, the time will update. The next time I start the car, the time reads 0:00.
The navigation part works fine.
I have worked on plenty of PCs, and when a PC loses time or CMOS settings, it is usually because the 3V battery on the motherboard is bad. I took apart the nav box hanging in my trunk, and what did I find but a little 3V battery. (Sanyo CR14250SE-FT) I ordered a replacement from Amazon. I went with the slow, free delivery option, so I will have to check my theory in a week.
