New BlitzSafe Bluetooth Adapter - Hon/Bluetooth V2X

How's it going everyone. New member/lurker here. Just thought I'd let you all know that there is another option now available for those of us who wish to stream music to our cars via bluetooth. I'm sure it's been discussed (too lazy to search) but I thought i'd share for those of you who (like me) were not aware of it. Here you go...

Blitzsafe Hon/Bluetooth V.2X

I purchased mine several days ago... Maybe i'll post a review/install pics if others are interested??

Also, for those of you who have read prior threads regarding the Hon/Aux DMX V2X, and were thinking of pairing it with the Blackberry Bluetooth Gateway like others have done on this forum, save yourself the $30 for the unit by going with this newer option, plus the extra $70+ for the blackberry hardware. Unless someone with experience can enlighten me, i think both setups basically accomplish the same thing? Hope this helps someone out!!

That should be a fairly easy install since the power comes from the multipin connector on the back of the head unit and there's no cable to run for iPod/ iPhone connection (since it's BT)- looks like it has promise. $89 for BT in the TL isn't bad at all either.

Scan and post the install doc and manual.

How does that work with HFL? Do incoming calls still interrupt the music? If so, does the incoming call place the music on pause or does the music keeping playing on the phone?

Edit: Looks like HFL functions normally for making/receiving calls and the music does pause/resume:

Blackberry Gateway currently costs $17, not $70. For 2007-2008 TL owners, I think the Gateway is still the easiest option (plugging into 3.5mm armrest audio input):

Weird. I didn't know that was the one being used. This is the one I found

Currently $67. Also, the older model from Blitzsafe is still and extra $30. Maybe there are other benefits of using the gateway, but I have no idea what they are at this point?

I'll post it as soon as it comes in

Not sure how it will work with HFL? The TL I bought currently doesn't have a working HFL anyway... Does anyone know if it will just pass it through? Kinda in a similar fashion to playing pandora and accepting a call with the 3.5mm Aux output through headphones? I'd assume incoming calls will interrupt the music because the phone I have currently does this (Nexus 5) So what i'm hoping is that it'll just pass the audio through and use the phones mic as usual.

I ordered one as well. The install should be very easy. It's a little tough getting to the plug on the back of the stack, but not too bad. From what I've read, there is absolutely no loss of functionality: XM, CD-changer, HFL.

Ahhh, I know where you're going with this question... Good thinking

"...It also works with any phone or device capable of transmitting the Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) protocol..."

So, I'm guessing the answer is yes since the N7 supports that protocol.

I hope you'll do a write-up in details with pics when you install yours to help those, like myself, still on the sideline. Thanks!

So... I get home from work today, and guess what's in the mailbox?!
New BlitzSafe Bluetooth Adapter - Hon/Bluetooth V2X-zy3gvq0.jpg

I was expecting a box, but the unit arrived in a padded envelope Thankfully, I didn't see any damage. Hoping this holds true post-install.

Only 3 things were included. The BT unit itself, a very simple installation sheet, and what i'm assuming is the units ?antenna? which connects to it opposite the harness. If anyone knows what this is, please let me know!!

For those that have asked, below are front and back scans of the only piece of paper included with it.

I'll post a my first impressions and install pics as soon as I get it in the car! I'm currently listening to CD's at 192 kbps, so if anyone's interested i'll do a quality/clarity/volume comparison vs that standard. The GF won't approve of me spending xmas in the garage/posting on the forum, so i'll probably have it up and running by the 26th. Happy Holidays!!

Depends on what you mean by "switch the music". Read the Blitzsafe specs:

Play
Pause
Next Track
Previous Track

Your HFL continues to function normally, so this isn't an issue.

My HFL does work and I'd be interested in keeping its functionality. However I am curious as to how the phone would pair to both BT devices.

Can anyone tell me as to the HFL will automatically kick in while you're streaming music to the Blitzsafe and receive a call? I would really enjoy Bluetooth streaming, but I'd hate to give up HFL (or have to switch my Bluetooth connection with it whenever I get a call and then switch back to the Blitzsafe whenever the call is done).

I saw that it pauses the music when a call comes through. However I couldn't find anyone mention that it automatically switches over to the HFL during the duration of the call and then switches back.

That was the part that I was confused about.

However the vendor did finally reach back and stated that it will automatically switch to the HFL.

that should be correct. I was able to do that with the isimple bluetooth module and my nexus 7 (using the steering wheel buttons or the tune knob to change songs). The isimple bluetooth connection wasn't consistent though so I ditched it for a DAC and 3.5mm to the isimple with plans of using a joycon. Maybe this module has a consistent connection with the nexus 7
