anyone ever worried about the door speaker magnet getting wet from the inside the door when it rains. i used the factory white plastic baffles and installed my speakers but i don't have much mid bass at all, probably because of the (baffles). but i don't want to ruin the new set..i had a set of image dynamics ctx 6.5's and was wondering why they were sending too muddy. turns out the voice coil was rusted and blew the drivers..

Have you considered XTC foam baffles available from partsexpress.com?

I have thought about it. I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with aftermarket speakers and no water shield to keep the magnets from getting wet

Considering my investment on Focal components, it only made sense to protect them from the elements, plus improved mid-bass response with the baffles. Even with the limited protection from the OEM speaker mounts, the speaker still gets wet.

so its not worth it to get a set of baffles then if they will still get a little wet.

No, the XTC baffles not only protected the speakers from the elements, but also improved the mid-bass response. The OEM speaker mount has only a "hood" and left the most of the speaker exposed.

Good to know. Did you cut the bottom out so they can vent or keep them sealed

I just cut a small slit on the bottom to run my speaker wires.
