Another BT45-ACU install

I finally got around to installing a BT45-ACU in the TL.
Install was really easy, it’s nice that you hook it up in the trunk on the XM unit and you don’t have to pull the dash apart.
I didn’t run the microphone since my factory HFL is still working fine.

I do wish the skip track were a short press on the steering wheel, and the volume is a little low but overall I’m very happy with the unit, only regret is not having installed this years ago.

Oh and thanks to Damon for his video! It put me at ease that even I could install this device.

So far super happy with the device!

I think by default all of the HFLs run continuously. It just doesnt do anything to a good, new battery.

I might be wrong, but I though the issue is that the hfl fails to turn off. I carried around a jumper pack while waiting for a replacement hfl to arrive, swapped and no more drain issues. I do not remember swapping the battery at that time. It’s possible that I did, but I don’t remember doing so. I would blame my age for being forgetful but that’s just the norm for me.

Anyways, moral of the story, if you have an 07-08 TL with nav, get the bt45, much nicer than dealing with the aux cable.

I been saying that for years lol, finally welcome to the 2023 lol. The one plus for me is the display of track name and other info.

Lol thanks for the warm welcome
yeah name of the track is nice benefit.
is it possible to adjust how loud it screams “connected” or just on or off?

I just need to fix the center console arm rest and the car is perfect! Ok nearly perfect, the damn clock being wrong is pissing me off more than it should.

You can only adjusting on/off only. As far as the clock issue goes, it should be fixed by now. If it not just put your clock auto adjustment off then disconnect your battery terminal and reconnect it again

My clock is 1 hour off now. Also, my car seems to be super lousy at holding time. When it couldn’t sync I was 30-40 minutes off.
what does the auto adjust off and reconnecting the battery terminals do?

basically reset the system and let you adjust your own time. After I did mine the clock been on time, it sucks but better than no adjustment or keep pulling the fuse every week.

Its been a long time, how thing goes for you?

Ah ok, yeah I think I’ll just tolerate the hour difference, seems like my clock drifts a lot.

otherwise, life is good

ACU design to work with live traffic update for the 07-08 navi model. The Hon3 has extra hardness where you can plug directly into the back of the radio.

Oh no problem…I ended up just returning the BT45. Might give one of those aux Bluetooth things a try.
