3GTL/2GRL Bluetooth Phones Compatibility...
#201
I just got a Motorola 815 from Verizon and it works perfectly with the TL. I get signal strength and battery level. Caller ID is much more reliable than with my Motorola V600 from T-Mobile=(sucks)...
I finally got tired of walking to the window everywhere I went to make calls and get my voicemal so I am paying the $250 cancellation fee and ditching T-mobile. The Verizon phone has 5 bars in my basement!

Motorola E815
Got my phone about 5 weeks ago from Verizon. It paired easily with my 04TL -- just follow the voice commands on the MID (I have the NAV, so not sure how this works for those of you without NAV). Setting up phone numbers, while not automatic, is real simple and takes only a few secs per phone number and name. The MID shows incoming call number, battery strength, roaming, etc. I do notice that once in a while it takes a 2nd time to have the car recognize the phone when I get into the car. But it's really simple.

I do tend to believe that it will work perfectly with HFL, most of the latest VZW phones do (vx8100, e815, v710), however the untouched BT of a Cingular RAZR shows no battery levels.
Either way, I'm sure it'll be a big hit, I can't wait for the days I won't have to take my phone out of its pocket when it rings in the car

T mobile Razor does not show battery life
I just got my T-mobile phone and it works good with the car. People say I sound clear, even better than talking on the phone. But the info screen on the TL only shows the signal of the phone not the battery life. Does anybody else have this issue.

WHY ARE WE USING CAPS?
The car doesn't need to know the model type of your phone. The phone needs to have the software programmed in it in order to fully support to HFL of the car. Follow the directions in your manual on how to program the phone to work with the car.

The new Motorola v360 (offered by T-Mo) works fine in the 2005 TL. No battery indicator though and voice quality is not great. I have the European version but I don't see why it should be any different from the US model (GSM 850 instead of 900). Most complaints are voice seems too distant or echoes sometimes.

I've just ordered the Razr v3c from Verizon. So, once I receive it and pair it up, I'll post the results. I'm upgrading from the v710.
Verizon offers the RAZR for $199 with 2 year contract (on-line only, until 11th, and the price after that is unknown), and I totally forgot that 9 months ago I was elligable for that "New every 2" program. So, I figured I'll cash it in, and will still recover most of the price by selling the v710 on Ebay

Thanks for your help but I think someone already posted this on a different thread. I would still like to hear what you think after getting yours. I wonder why the moderator won't combine the two threads???

Where I lay my phone at night is on the other side of the garage wall where the TL is parked and sometimes I wake up to a dead phone that was fully charged the night before. Maybe there are "hooking up" in the middle of the night.

Yes, it's true. I place my V600 on a table just inside the garage door and the TL doesn't let go of it. If I don't put it in the charger, it will be dead in the morning because Bluetooth sucks (battery power).
I am re-reading this thread because, after almost 2 years, the V600's battery is dieing and I will get a new phone before spending $51 for a battery.
I'm fed up with Cingular who bought my AT&T. Their phone staff is totally incompetent. I'm leaning toward Verizon.
Cingular is trying to twist my arm to migrate to their rate plan but I am in a government group so they can .

Since you mention it, I have noticed a strange thing. My TL does not "let go" of my RAZR V3 if I happen to leave the trunk open. I noticed this when I was unloading the trunk and my phone rang and I was unable to answer it because it was still connected with the car, but the car was off. As soon as I closed the trunk, I heard the little beep from the RAZR letting me know that it had disconnected. It seems to be repeatable. Maybe the HFL bluetooth transmitter stays powered up with the interior lights on?

Just checking in with the new Cingular 2125 Smartphone. Phone pairs fine with the TL with no dropped connections. It does show caller-id but not signal or battery strength. Reception has been excellent.

Safety Car
The SE Z520a is on the currently testing list.I have this phone and it works great with the HFL. The MID displays caller I.D., battery status, and signal strength, and the car will find it automatically every time I turn the key

Sprint users
I finally decided to get the LG 325. If you are a SPRINT user...I say again, IF you are a sprint user and want something that for sure is going to work with ur TL, go with the LG. I wanted a newer phone but with sprint you have barely any options. I could go with the new Blade that costs a fortune (its alright looking i guess) be all I.T. with a Treo, followed by a brand new shiny contract? Plus I still have to hand over more cash than the 325 with no contract.
Maybe Ebay for an old second or third hand sony ericson perhaps. Sure it is compatible but is it reliable? The difference on a used 325 to new was like 80 bucks. I got the box, manual, new battery and warranty for a few months for the additional cost.
Save the headache I gave myself and go with a proven performer. It paired no problem and I was making calls in less than five minutes through my TL. No problems dialing, hanging up, or carrying on a conversation. My best advice, IF POSSIBLE, go with another phone carrier. Then you'll have an actual choice on what phone you want.
The bright side, I paid 200 bucks for the phone and can finally use something I paid 30 thousand for. Glad its over. I wish Acura would just charge like 2 0r 3 hundred more a car and make some acura style phones ready for hookup with any carrier(at least an option?).

I picked up the Cingular 2125 smartphone yesterday to replace my SE t637 (which works on the HFL giving batt and signal display).
As midas69 mentioned the 2125 pairs with the TL, no batt or signal display.
After you get the TL's HFL ready to pair, on the 2125 you go to "Bluetooth settings", "Menu", "Devices", "Menu", "New" and follow the phones directions from there.
At first I couldn't get the phone to be recognized by HFL, but read this info in the online manual available at htcamerica.net.
BTW this is a great smartphone without the smartphone size. No keyboard, but does sport a 1.3MP camera/video, Windows 5.0 mobile, mini SD slot, IE, and a great display. This phone is quite small when compared to the treo and IPAQ phones.

I just purchased the Samsung SPH-A900 (aka blade) today. after 3 tries of pairing, it finally worked., except without battery and other signals. The calling was fine but when i tried to hang up by pressing the cancel button on the steering wheel, it wont disconnect. Has anyone experience this, with this particular phone or any other phones? please help.

Brand New Smart-Phone: T-Mobile SDA
Yo guys, T-Mobile just announced their a new smart-phone. T-Mobile SDA! I was wondering if anyone has any details if this phone will work with HFL? I am looking for a new phone and have been debating between buying a smart-phone or a BlackBerry. Smart-phone would be great, cause it is Windows based but on-the-other-hand we know that the BlackBerry works just fine with HFL.
Any replies are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

2 phones simultaneously connected question
My girlfriend and I are going on a trip this long weekend and I was thinking about pairing her Motorola V600 up with the car for the trip. I also have a Motorola V600 and it is already paired. Just wondering if anyone has tried this before and what were the results? Can both phones be paired/connected to the TL simultaneously?
