How Do You Stream Audio From Phone Via Bluetooth?
Does anyone know if there is a way I can stream music from my phone through bluetooth? I have a Samsung Behold II. I thought about an FM transmitter but don't really want to go that route. Even if I could somehow connect through mini usb would not be too bad. Thanks

Bluetooth Audio Streaming (A2DP) is not supported on '05 - '08 RLs, only '09 - '10 model years have this feature.
I would recommend USA Spec PA15-AcuXL, it supports both Ipod hookup and an AUX hookup that I use as a 3.5mm plug for non-Ipod devices.

It's an 05 and I know the new models do but just wanted to know if there was some aftermarket part that would let me do that. Where can I read more about what the USA Spec PA15-AcuXL does? What kind of places would install that for me?

No pics, but it's easy to install and explained here:

if you have a free aux jack and are willing to control the tracks from your phone you can also use a Blackberry stereo gateway in conjunction with a Blackberry car adapter. Picked up the whole setup on Amazon.com for around 30 bucks and it works great with my Moto Droid.

The whole issue is that there's no Aux jack on the older RL's (older than 09). I'd rather plug into the Aux Jack directly in that case. You almost gave me hope but alas . Thanks anyway though.

Here's something I'm looking forward to.

I like it because it has an optional 3.5mm jack. I never had much luck with fm transmitters. For the 05 and 06 model you'll need to buy a 3rd party device to add the 3.5mm aux input. You can everything hidden in the center console

A2DP BT for 05 RL
Have anybody looked at the aftermarket kit GROM-U2-HON1
http://www.oemautointegration.com/ho...a/usb/car/kits ?
Its description looks promising, but very well can be misleading. Wonder if anybody tried it yet.

"For 2007, the RL features a list of standard equipment, including the Acura/Bose DVD-Audio system that delivers surround sound in all seating positions, and XM® Satellite Radio, an all-new MP3 auxiliary jack and passenger seatbelt reminder."

In 2009, they added a USB connection
"In addition to DVD-Audio and traditional CD source inputs, the 2009 RL is fitted with a new USB port that allows for easy connectivity to an iPod® (5th generation or later Apple iPod® or 2nd generation or later iPod Nano®) or iPhone® along with removable "memory stick" mass storage device containing WMA or MP3 format music. The USB port is located alongside a traditional AUX jack (that allows connectivity of MP3 music players) in the center console's lower storage compartment."

Bluetooth streaming for 05 RL
It looks like this site http://www.autotoys.com has all kinds of aftermarket improvements for the stock radios. I hope Bluetooth streaming for 05 RL is buried somewhere there, I just don't have time to dig for it. Anyone?

I just installed the Grom unit (GROM-USB2-HON1) today in my 05 RL and it seems to work fine. Must be the new firmware. I also added the bluetooth module (Cable-BTD) for streaming audio (internet radio, etc) from my phone. Took a couple tries to pair it to my Droid 2, but now works great.

A2DP for 05 RL - Dice MB1500 installed
And I decided to play lazy, went to the nearest Car Toys shop and asked to install Dice Mediabridge MB1500 they had in stock. Took them 5 hours to get it right, but now it seems to be working fine as well. I did not have time so far to learn the manual and check what exactly I got for the money - I'm planning to do that over the weekend. Then I will report here what I find.
bosco78 - very interested to compare whith what you got, as it was my primary choice until I switched to Dice because of just "impulse shopping".
Have you installed your GROM yourself? I'm really curious to see detailed review from you.

Just bought the Grom unit on clearance (it was around $50). Bestbuy can do it for $50 which seems appealing rather than me messing with it unless you guys can convince me otherwise? Was it an easy install? Any pics or thoughts on removing trim and so on for the 06 (same as 05)? Thx.

I got my Dice Mediabridge for $230 and with Car Toys installation it was over $550. I feel kinda stupid now. Oh well... Still did not have time to learn what i've bought for that money. Hope to look at it on the weekend.

Dice MB-1500
So I've tried it and found that Dice MB-1500 works with RL 05. Well, mostly.
The good news are that the phone (at least iPhone4) can keep two simultaneous Bluetooth connections - one to Dice (for music streaming) and one to Acura stock handsfree. This means Dice does not cripple or disable ANY Acura built-in feature, including handsfree, which is great.
There are glitches though. One which annoys me most at the moment is that when I listen to the music through Dice Bluetooth, then answer incoming call with handfree and talk for longer than 30 sec. Dice disconnects from the phone and music does not resume when I hang up. For talks less than 30 sec. it does resume. Oh well... I can live with that.
Wonder if combination of GROM-I3-HON1 and GROM BT dongle works any better.
Thank you!
Konstantin

So has anyone installed the GROM device with the bluetooth module? How does it work? If your phone supports multiple bluetooth connections can you still use the HFL or do you have to use the GROM device? Any information is appreciated!!
