android navigation for rl kb1 kb2

how many would upgrade to android navigation system if one was available?

they make plenty of plug and play units for other cars.
and recently started making one for tsx because tsx owners asked for it now they have a tsx specific kit for it
we csn do the same if enough interest is gathered they will make it

oh wtf lol
just google android navigation accord (or any car that you like) they have plenty of options for most of the car.
this is one example of what they make for accord
https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...689926485.html

recently a member of tsx group got a company to make a kit for acura TSX and now its on sale from alibaba
https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesa...bluetooth.html

he ordered i think 100 or 300 units
i belive he had to make the prototype dash kit . he ordered the accord kit and made it to fit tsx and then they made a kit for tsx

How would it integrate with the Climate menu on the screen? Or when you use voice commands for climate and the screen briefly shows you what changed?

some of those android units have integrated on screen climate controls

its a can bus . it can be interfaced just like TSX and accord

GA-NET system which is used in almost all newer Hondas
it can be hacked and interfaced by aftermarket products
most people assume that theres nothing can be done to the RL
TSX owners assumed same thing
until someone tried the accord nav unit in their tsx and it worked

there was one dude here( angrycamel) who knows about the can bus network but he seems to have abandoned this page and his car mods hobby

but theres plenty of info online
I'm reading it now
someone else can also start doing some research on how it works
I see people using some kind of scan tools to intercept signals to program the aftermarket unit to work in place of oem

our best hope would be a company from Alibaba
they have tools to hack the ga-net and also machinery to make a dash kit for us

I messaged few shops already but its hard to explain to them what exactly I want a lot of them don't speak English too well

There's a home brew option....

Build a raspberry pi computer and add the touchscreen.
Throw Android on it via "open auto" from xda

How can we make this happen? I am tired of the 15 year old eyesore that I have in there now. Not shelling out $500 for an old piece of tech.

I bought a climate control from 2009 rdx or mdx which has same plug.
plugged it in and heater blow air but nothing was working
diagram shows completely scattered wires but it looks like they are same functions just all the pins were purposely swapped around
I haven't got to actually repining the plug yet to try it but I will get to is some time soon.
if that works then we are finally free from the stupid integrated unit and can install anything we want

Well if you get that working let me know. That sounds too good to be true.

I’d be interested for sure, I’m getting tired of this “infotainment” which is really just a USA-Spec unit and I keep the screen off most of the time, I’m looking to get a Navtool or Naviks with a CarPlay/Android auto interface as an option, but I’d be interested in an aftermarket as well.

I wonder how well it’d interface with the Bose amp or XM though? I feel like our issue would be the fact that so much of the car is “intertwined” and I don’t know if the Accords had the same “features”
