05 RL - NAV TV RGB HON+ (backup camera interface)

Hey all,

I'm trying to add a clean backup camera solution (in my 2005 RL) using the existing (factory) nav screen. My research has pointed me towards a part from NAV TV called the RGB-HON + for $349.99 -OR- the NAVIKS nav video interface (requires aux audio input?) . Can anyone tell me if this is a good route to go? Also looking for good backup camera recommendations too. Again, wanting the cleanest possible install. Thanks!!

Next question is what solution is recommended for playing music wirelessly via my iPhone 6+? Thanks again!

PS: this is a great site and I greatly appreciate all the expert feedback. The Kenu Airframe and Airframe + is a great, clean, inexpensive iPhone holder (clips to your AC vent).

I just went thru this exercise for our '05RL and used this:
ACURA RL 2005-2008 NAVIGATION VIDEO INTERFACE

It was $200 and when I received the unit it was their new 3.0 version. The wiring is a bit different than what was written up in Heavy's thread on installing it but it works basically the same - using their harness you "y" into the cable feed going into the back of the DVD nav unit in the trunk and plug your backup camera feed into their unit as well. fyi - They no longer ship the push button switch with the unit. Their instructions on installing it weren't all that great.

I went with this Esky unit for the camera itself:

I would go NavTool purely due to customer service. The Nav TV reviews here were quite awful with wrong cables being sent and long delays between returns and send backs.

As for a wireless audio solution, USASpec has a new Bluetooth interface, PAC-BT45, that they claim to have tested on all iPhones and multiple Android devices. I don't think we have any documentation here on the device, but the wired USASpec has been proven countless times.

I am wondering why nav tool does not make a unit for all the Honda cars with a full color MID. Even the base LX models have them now. My '15 CRV has a little 5" screen up front and the Accord has a huge 8" screen. There is a video of a guy with a Civic who tapped in and did his own so it will work. I think this market would be way bigger than any Acura, why would they not make this?
