Whoever did this has some insane patience and really good soldering skills. Those PCB surface-mount LEDs are impossible to solder. He even did the MID screen. Impressive.

A DIY does not exist. but a very extensive description of DONE conversions. everything can be found on Accord2008.net at EdtheRock.

Look here is my Car-Design.
it is not the end result, but an insight to the remodeling. all lights were converted to blue and the speedometer got a TypeS conversion with improved SMD's

it is certainly not easy this tag, but with patience and a lot of time you can do everything. also a good soldering station and the correct components are required. for the 2nd remodeling I have two complete days required.

Both me an ssjoeboe tried to change the LEDs on the radio display. We broke it.

I have 400 blue and red SMDs in a bag... i kind of want to do this now that i got a better iron.

the radio is still the easy part. complicated the upper display. there must be plumbed 83 contacts simultaneously to get to the SMDs

the individual solder joints need to be resolved with a desoldering advance. that's not so bad. I made it with the desoldering station ZD-917 without any problems. then lift the display carefully to one side and replace the SMDs.

I changed the smd leds to red on my display and i didnt have to desolder any pins. I was able to just separate the lcd from the pcb board.
They must of redesigned that display in 2011. It was really easy to solder in those leds but I do have tons of experience and steady hands with crap like that.

I do like that video in the first post but I find some of that stuff to be overboard, like that honda emblem on the ground. A bit ricey if you ask me. Since i have an SE model, i would do all of my backlit buttons red to match the oem lights.

firstly .: each display that I have rebuilt looked like in my photos. It is indeed generally to the European Accord. It has changed not display at 2008. Even my own is modell 2015 and has the same display.

secondly .: the Accord from the first video is also an EU-modell Accord Executive. it is not original TypeS. He has original blue light in the footwell and now extended this Blue to his wishes.

Thanks!! So it looks like you used 0805 led and not the 1206. This will help me greatly.
