*WHEW* im pretty much caught up, im not messing with that intersection shit... intersections in cali dont always look like that, they snug right up to the limit line... you can't do lane changes within like 200feet of an intersection here though...

have you responded to murder calls? suicide calls? overdose calls? fatal accident calls? industrial accident calls?

which are the hardest to deal with emotionally?

murder - yeah but its soo serious we just removed and a detective takes care of it...

suicide - yep, both attempts and completed, but usually a detective grabs these too

OD - yeah, and sadly it's the same... street cops are usually like "pre-investigators" here, b/c we're soo busy...

Fatal Accidents - we turn these over to CHP because the highway boys are way better at accidents than us...

Industrial Accidents - these are kinda rare, i've only been to one where a pipe made a man flat... pretty cool to see... (fucked up cop humor) but this went to a detective

none of those are the worst, we're pretty jaded to things and we get iron stomachs... the only things i still "feel" are kid related crimes... the worst thing i ever saw was a charred baby, head to toe, because of parental neglect... like 98% of her skin was burned, and she was alive and crying in the hospital... it still makes me sick..

the cool to see stuff i can identify with, i don't see it as a fucked up sense of humour.

I also understand and hadn't thought of a situation as horrific as you describe here.

Sounds like you're a pretty down to earth guy, i'm sure that helps you stay connected.

Serious question:

What is the percentage of people you pull over for traffic violations that end up getting a ticket?

i try, its tough... you find yourself prejudging so much because we really are right most of the time with our assumptions... but we try to remember everyone *is* different...

most people i ticket talk themselves INTO a ticket...

heres a tip... if a cop approaches your car, takes your license, walks back to his car, and then comes back to you with your license, you probably are not getting a ticket.. (SO BE QUIET and let us say "dont do this again you're causing an unsafe situation blah blah blah)...

unless they have a dr card I have never cited or arrested for posession, i just destroy it on site and let them go... with most kids this is preferred to their parents knowing

i will almost always bust for sales though...

and *ALWAYS* for driving under the influence of ANYTHING.... my words are "I dont give a fuck about you, if you wanna hit a tree feel free too... but you're endangering everyone else, and thats why you're going to jail"
