Hello guys, I recently bought a 2011 Acura ZDX Advance. I was just wondering if the LED running boards is something extra people add to the car when they buy ut fornthe first time, or if a package is the one that brings it. So far i know there is the Base, technology, and Advance package. If they dont come on any package, where would you recommend buying it. How much do they go for.

I've seen them on ebay and Amazon (both from Acura dealers, I think) for around $620. I'm also curious if other owners have installed the running boards themselves and the degree of difficulty.

Love my running boards! Had done along with a few other add-ons. Here are my notes, with links, from a couple of years ago...I went with #2, ordered myself & had installed by garage I've used for years; after the fact they said it was pretty involved:

let the dealer do it. This is very involved to connect with electronic system!!!!! Do not let anyone do this to your zdx! When done it looks bueatful at night. Strong to stand and on. I am 217lbs...!

The lights on the running board look nice, but when it comes to practicality, they make for a larger stretch into the car and more often than not, dirty pants.

you just need to learn to step on them right, they are actually very convenient

try stepping left foot first then right foot straight into the cabin. no problems and dirty pants too

The OEM running boards are absolute needed for the ZDX. The car looks sorta naked without them. The LED at night is cool. I had mine installed by the dealer. Too lazy!

Sport running boards are no longer available from American Honda. Honda has discontinued these parts with no replacement. =(

There are 2 pairs left in the country, Any dealer can search these and get them crossed shipped,
I found mine after I bought the car 3 months ago..

good luck, I imagine you can do anything you want. put out a search with a salvage broker...
