Announcing my twin-turbo ZDX project

And this is serious made deposit to our local tuner shop today so the would be no way back. This will be a long project (getting the neccessary parts alone would take 2 months approx) but it will be finished. Targeting about 500hp. This will include forged engine internals, turbos, intercoolers, catless exhaust (totally new), modded brakes and maybe tranny. I think nobody turboed J37 (and probably J35) engine so there is a chance that the car will eventually fall apart but I want to take this risk
I love ZDX and I want to make it a performance car that it was supposed to become.

So far the shop ordered Garrett turbos, Tial wastegates and blowoffs, piping and some other minor stuff. I need to leave one of my Z's at the shop so they can get into the engine to make sure than it has same internals as the Honda legend with J37 engine that is already in process of being turboed

90% of the parts received. waiting for forged rods and pistons but I'm leaving the car at the shop next week or so for mounting the turbos and stuff and we'll deal with forged internals later

also working on retrofitting porsche cayenne brembo calipers for the Z

Sure it will affect rotors too. Cayenne rotors don't fit, so we are going to try with Lexus IS-F 360mm front rotors and will decide about rear rotors afterwards

What will you be using for ECU/ Tune? AEM? Will you rais the Rev limiter a few hundred RPM's just for the cool factor and to free up a few pony's in the top end?

I can't wait till we start to see videos and pictures of it.

The performance car it was supposed to become?
Not one picture this entire time? Nothing but delays? 30K to turbo it?
Why do I get the feeling we're being strung along...

I hope it's real. If it is, I'll be the first one eating too.

We'll be using Unichip ECU, not sure about the revs but after we put forged rods and pistons - maybe. I'm not a real tech expert in those things but I'll be studying on my project

Trust me this is not a BS thread I've been around here for a while and hopefully wasn't seen BSing people
Shipping parts alone to Russia takes one month and there is a queue for certain parts like Garrett GTX turbos

But yes its taking longer than I expected and I'm getting impatient myself but its not a fake project

haha yeah sort of)
finally they got to touch it after I was about to take the car to another shop
when I checked them last Wednsday intake, battery and some other stuff under the hood was removed, they are measuring the fitment for radiators and piping
all parts (still except forged rods and pistons) have arrived

bad thing is that winter is comming and I probably won't be able to beat the crap out of the car when its finished until spring, but no problems for dynoruns

Twin turbo V6 ZDX!!! Crazy mod and very daring! I hope it works out and you can keep all four tires on the road long enough to enjoy the ride. It will be interesting to see the dyno results when complete. Especially when compared to the '14 CTS that has a twin turbo 3.6L V6.

Best of luck and happy mods!
