I am having acceleration issues with my Acura RSX
So lately my 2002 Acura RSX base with auto transmission and it has 151,000 Miles is acceleration either slow and or not accelerating at all. Today when I was driving to work and I stopped at the red light and when it turned green I pressed on the gas but it did not wanna go so I pressed the gas pedal more and it finally moved and once I got it to 40 Mph I let loose of the gas pedal just to maintain the speed, while driving at 40 I started to realize that I was losing speed and pretty quick also and I pressed on the gas more and nothing happened and I just kept losing speed and so I checked if no one is behind and getting ready to move off the road so I do not get rear ended and cause a accident.. Luckily no one was behind and I quickly turned in a parking lot and parked my car and I felt like it was because of my breaks because nothing popped up on my dash of any engine problems or anything. So I pressed on my break peddle and continued pressing it and it felt like it loosened up and then I continued my trip to work with no problems and then once I got off and drove home I had no problems either. Anybody know what could be wrong? and the breaks and rotors were replaced last year but the car had to sit and was rarely driven for 8 months.

Are you sure the parking brake was off? Maybe a caliper was seized after not driving it for a while. Lift the car, put into neutral and try to spin the wheels to see if there's any resistance.

Yes the parking break was off, I think the calipers ain't letting go right away and that it is keeping the car from going. But now there is a bad vibrations coming from the engine while accelerating and I just got the engine mounts replaced so i am getting that checked out soon.
