Thank you. I'm happy with the height and fitment. Need the side and rear of kit now. Sides will make it look a little lower. Maybe add a diffuser to the rear to make that look lower as well. Don't really want to go any lower until I get a new suspension set up. But I may say screw bags and stay on coils. Well see.

I think yesterday makes the 4th oil change.

I have a scrapping sound from the rear I think right rotor. At first I thought it was only during braking but now I can hear it slightly in general while rolling slowly. I'm sure it's the rear rotor having a slight warp just like the front did. I should have saved a little and got slotted rotors for the front. Didn't realize Id be replacing the rears also.

Maybe I'll just look into it now since I already have the replace the rears. Just do the front and rear at once.... we'll see.

John did you have to go through a big hassle to make that splitter work? I know you got the STI lip, i'm looking at this one from ebay and I'm just wondering how hard it was to make it work. I'd take it somewhere to install it, don't think i'd be able to pull it off myself.

I didn't have issue installing it but sure others have. I'm not sure if a shop would install it for you as you're going to need to cut it to fit correctly then drill it straight into the bumper. There is no "how to" or direct guide they can follow to say the work was done correctly.

Hmmm thanks. I'll look into it. I'll see if I talk to a few shops before I buy and see what they say.

Id take that RS myself!

Sadly the integra was a little rough around the edges. Subaru looked flawless though.

I really like those pictures. I see what you mean about your fitment as not being "flush" per say but it looks pretty good without going into any extreme work.

If I could achieve that type of fitment on my TL id be content.

I still have to install my STi lip for the front (looks like a PITFA) and I'm thinking about that ISF diffuser for the rear too.

Also I like the PMM paint on those ILX's. in person it looks fucking sweet. Those graphite looking colours have really grown on me

Thanks. Yeah nothing i consider flush. Id want the front to drop about an inch with the same camber and the rear needs more positive camber and about half an in drop and id clal it flush then. Id also need smaller tires to go any lower in the front.

I know you've posted this somewhere before, but is there a link to where you bought your STI lip? I'm not trying to copy you or anything... well I am.

But I'm just wondering whether or not this would work on a 2016 bumper.

It is around here but not sure which page.

Just ebay search 2006 STI lip. There are two versions. Mine and the one with winglets on the side. Both take cutting and modification to make fit right.

Another 2016 owner already put the STI lip on their LIX so it definitely can fit.

Nothing new. Front lip finally cracked all the way through. Luckily it was in a spot I was able to just add one more bolt and it lines up nice still. Took the Spocom sticker off. Save the wheels sent me some banner decals so I put those on. I think they look nice. Picked up a Work banner but I dont know if I want it on.

Save the wheels!

I don't mind it on the front (and I hate stickers) but I don't like it on both front and rear.
Plus, it made me think you might be a Carnie or something and you're on a plight to save Ferris Wheels from extinction!

Looking good, Jonathan. I dig it...very clean. I think the sides and rear will really tie it all together.

I am a Carnie. What other wheel would I be talking about? Im confused. Cheese wheels are cool too but I'm lactose sensitive.

Agreed on the kit but when I decide to throw another 6-800 at my car it will probably be in rebuilding the wheels. I will get the kit probably but part of me wants to just say screw wasting money there and save for a real kit to have a shop fuse.

Front sticker speaks for the front two wheels.

Rear sticker speaks for the rear two.

Save the wheels!
Although it's not aggressive still a feat for sure. Been looking at this ride for days now!
Quick question how does your exhaust sound I see on the back end there's not much to show?

Seeing your ILX makes me want to pick one up. But I don't know if its worth the price or not. What do you think? 2013 Used Acura ILX Premium Pkg**Tech** at Deluxe Auto Dealer Serving Midway City, CA, IID 15695074

Thanks. 14G for a premium isnt bad I think. But I wouldnt buy the premium myself unless it was a 2.4

For me it was either bigger engine or more bells and whistles. I would not have been content with the smaller engine AND no bells and whistles. Id say buy a Civic or Accord maybe if the ILX tech or 2.4 is out of the market as those are the only ILXs I considered.

I have no idea how long you plan on keeping an ILX if you buy one... IF you actually plan on keeping it for a decent amount of time.. i would NOT recommend that model. I agree with Jon man. When I was selling Hondas, i would see people turn in Civics or Accords sometimes with 300,000 miles... guess what was a few common themes?
1) usually bought new, or pretty new, took relatively good care of it the entire time.
2) usually either they had fixed the car up, OR they got a model with a lot of OEM upgrades or features...

if you get a base model car, you will see a LOT more difference between your car and newer cars every year... This may or may not matter to you... It does matter a LOT to people who hold onto cars for as long as it makes sense to. keep looking around, These cars are a STEAL used.

Such an awesome looking wheel IMO. Like a cross between a euro mesh and split 5 spoke design. And I love the devil horn center cap design.
Only thing I like more about my VSMX are the center caps/hex cap covering the lugs.
Well after talking about them a lot I finally bought some. Pretty damn happy I own two of my top three wheel designs. Lastly I just need to pick up some work meisters/ssr professors.
Such I great price I will never understand how people pay so much for cheap replica wheels on cast barrels. Thanks Threepiece.Us! p.s. if you're reading this; hey pugchelle, thanks for the t-shirt!

After cleaning them up.

Waiting until President's Day for a good deal on tires. I'm thinking business in front (weds) party in back (works). hahaha

Probably pick up some buddy club forged lugs in bronze or go cheap with SN lugs in champagne gold.

John now you've got me looking at Work wheels. But I won't make that investment till I get a garage where I can keep the car locked up. They are disrespectful out here and will steal my wheels in a heartbeat. I'm a fan of the emotions, gnosis & i really like their Schwartz SC2 with deep lip! One day though. For now I'm happy with my Rohana's.

I am really loving these weds. Really catch your eye unlike the darker works which is making me reconsider the gunmetal I have on the works. The lighter tone just pops so much more.

It's coming down to it and Im going to have to make a decision on finish and width for the Works.

So far 9 and 9.5

9 would easily fit call it a day but 9.5 can be done with people throwing 10s on their ILX. Im leaning toward 9.5

As for finish either the same gunmetal on new 24k bolts or go with a brushed champagne for a lighter tone on 24k bolts.

Example of a champagne finish.

so which one is bad and which is evil?.. It doesn't f**king matter. Both those bitches are mean AF!!

i gotta tell bro. I'm not too much of a fan for the 13- 15 ILX. But if I seen your shit on the sales floor.... I'd tell the salesman shut up and take my money.

Pic wasn't working I guess.

Just got back from getting my front windows tinted again. This time not the same as the rear.

Rear 15%
Front 35%

Next week going to get the lightest film they have on the windshield which is 70% visibility.
Just ordered a new front lip to replaced this cracked one. Now contemplating where I want the rest of my tax return/car funds to go. I'm thinking I can go two routes right now...

I can finish off a sort of "stage 1" exhaust with the RV6 straight-pipe header for the Civic and match it with the DC Sports catback for the same civic which would only need a new tip to fit. Exhaust would sound beast but not to fool anyone; there would be little power gain if any.

Or I can finish the OE kit and pick up the sides and rear from Delray Acura.

Either option would cost roughly the same. About $750-800. One would make the car look more complete the other would make it sound more beast than it actually is. Oh the choices.

The dealer made me remove my tints in order to pass the New York State inspection smh
my tinits weren't even dark. I had 50% all around. Apparently since January 1, 2017 in order to pass annual inspection the windows are now included smh.

so yeah... I'm jealous of you right about now.

Damn that's a bitch. Sorry for your loss.

Not sure if I want to do my front. Ive had to take my front side tint off 3 times already. Its not that bad when its only 75 to put it back on. But the front they want 190 I think he said. Fuuuuuck. I hate to get that done then get a ticket and just lose out on it. Thats like the cost of all 4 side windows. We'll see.

Just got a new sti lip in to replace my cracked one. About ready to get the headlight replaces and the scuff on the bumper repainted. I'll have enough of my tax return left to finish off the kit with the sides and rear. Ive had some large skirt extensions sitting in my garage for a while now so I'll see if I can fit those to the oe underbody spoiler before installing those.

Looking into a catback set up. I have my heart set on DC. Had their catback on my 94 integra and absolutely loved it... minus the large 3in tip but it worked for the integra I guess. Ive contacted DC to see if they are interested fitting the 1.8l civic catback to see if it works on my 2.0 ilx. I'm very sure it will. All it would need are extended hangers to clear the ILX bumper. I would rather cut the DC tip off and just weld a tip facing downward and keep the rear bumper OE. If they arent interested in fitting it and giving me a discount I'll just order it and have a shop put a new tip on it for me.

Man those new wheels are CLEAN. Like the lugs, one of my favorite colors, details, I always like details. I slept on some 3 piece Works a random craigslister was selling. 18x9 square set, chrome, $1000, perfect condition. With brand new, but shit brand, tires. Lip was only maybe like 1 inch or or probably more like 1.5... didn't look super aggressive, just very clean. The face was really good looking. NO rim rash...

I have been wanting to eventually get 19x9 wheels.. mostly for looks... but i kept reading up on this a lot and I'm actually leaning more towards 18x9 or 19x8.5... most of the "show" car ILX's have used 19x8.5 wheels... 19's are significantly heavier, especially luxury wheels... I eventually want both a sporty and a Lux look... and If Im going to spend the money, I'm going to want a pretty dramatic change from stock... I have to admit that the 18's You have thrown on look great, especially with the right dsize face, drrop and sizing and stuff...

if you want "performance"18x9. If you want pure looks and most likely giving up a little performance on this car, go 9.5.

Do I Need Plus-Size Tires? - Consumer Reports
"Some plus-size wheels and tires live up to their image. Our tests of plus-one, plus-two, and plus-three wheels with common-model tires show that increasing wheel diameter 1 inch—or one plus size—offers the greatest benefit in overall performance. After that, you're likely to pay for small gains in grip and handling with big losses in ride comfort, hydroplaning resistance, and snow traction."

So... the newer ILX's do come with 18,'s stock, but it's also a pretty thin wheel still...we love in California so snow is notcreally a factor, but do you take trips to Bear Mountain or anything..? Something to keep in mind... and it still rains in California, so hydoplaning can be a real concern... I hit a small but very deep pothole and it made a huge bubble in my tire, kept air tho. i got it replaced... I like making mods that make sense for a daily drover, that leep it low hassle and very safe still, if not in fact, actually safer...
