Those are just old 2013 ILX development photos.

The current 2016 models comes with jeweleye LED headlights standard.

They would go back to halogen projector beams as seen in those photos.

Nope. Those are recent (i.e. Aug/Sept 2015) pics of the Civic Type R caught testing in Spain.

Wow, ILX front end on the new Type R to "throw people off"?

Very tricky Honda.

God i hope so... If that sweet 2.0 turbo comes to the states ill bet the aftermarket support will be huge, bigger turbos, better manifolds, tuning, intercoolers etc etc ..even stock will be a hell of a car to drive daily. I have two years on my lease, if this car comes to the states ill be first in line, if not I'm perfectly happy keeping my 15

With the Type R for Civic being FWD only, does anyone know if Acura will actually go full on AWD starting with its next gen models?? The ILX type S will be a very welcomed addition to the Acura lineup but I'm curious what they'll do with the base model. Some have suggested that the base Acuras come with at least 220 hp. Since the 1.5T in the Civic is single scroll I'm sure the Acura version will be twin scroll and probably using VTEC. I've been hoping that Acura will abandon the painted plastic trim and dual screen center console, they can use real metal and leather to stand out.

I would bank on an ILX Type S in the future using 2016 Civic chassis and Type R engine. Maybe not tuned to the full 300+ HP but high 200s. I would not bank on AWD on the ILX.

Acura has previously stated it intends to move toward AWD, and Temple of VTEC's review of the new Civic mentioned that the chassis includes a subframe for the rear suspension, which could facilitate AWD. To me, these developments strongly indicate the next ILX will have AWD.

2.0T with 250HP+ and AWD through the DCT would be sweet.

I think it is possible that this TRIM level will happen, As well as a possible ILX coupe... BUT the price point will most likely NOT be too attractive... But maybe Acura will do like the Integra Type R's where they actually lost money on the individual cars, but expanded the brand's overall following, fanbase, and sales.

Maybe (probably) 1.5T and 2.0T versions with the DCT and AWD fitting in there somehow. I will say that going forward, Acura is making a concerted effort to put itself more upmarket than Honda and have the quality/features to back it up. So you're probably right about the price going up as well.
