Ilx 2.4 vs older acura 2.4

Hello all,

My gf is in the market for a new ride and I've been looking at the ilx 2.4. She had a 1st gen tsx back in the day that she absolutely loved but it had a gross oil consumption issue. It then slipped a timing chain so we sold it. I've read about a continued oil consumption issue with the second gen tsx, as well as the Tl 3.7. This has kind of gotten me away from Acura but I've heard the new ilx shares a motor with the civic si, and is an updated version of the 2.4, not the same as the motor that came in the second gen tsx. Is there any merit to this, and has there been any early discussions about oil consumption with the new motor? We have considered a civic si so if the new ilx is truly the same motor, I'm thinking it may be a little safer. Appreciate any input. Thanks!

i have a 2016 ilx aspec tech and I love mine. It's really fun to drive and just gun it on to get onto a empty and open highway every morning to work. You hear the vtec. No turbo. But still fun.

For what it's worth, I have the 2012 TSX Wagon (K24Z3 engine). It has over 60,000 and so far, no oil consumption issues.
