'16 ILX Holes in Leather!

Anyone who owns a '16 ILX knows that there are small holes in the front leather seats for the seat heating system. i recently dropped a smoothie on my passenger leather seat and it is impossible to clean because it soaked into the holes !

I got a full interior detail from a small car wash shop and they said they used a strong shop vac to suck out all the liquid from my seat but there were still "dry crusties" around the perimeter of each tiny hole that seemed to be impossible to clean !

I am having an actual professional clean it now and he says it would be no problem. We will see what happens in the next hour.

DON'T DROP ANY TYPE OF LIQUID ON YOUR FRONT LEATHER SEATS, or you will have a head ache !

Ouch that can be a problem.

One of the reasons I'm happy I went with the A-Spec package.

Not only does it help mitigate burning your rear-end in the summer from the sun baking the leather cushions, the faux-suade inserts helps clean up of accidental messes (joys of having a 2 year old in the car).

So does the aspec package leather seats look completely different? I would love to see how the " faux-suade inserts" look.

There is a flip side to having perforated leather seats...If you don't spill stuff on em.. it helps the seats to breathe, and increasing comfort in summer.

All years of ILX's have those little breather holes in the front seats as far as I know. I have experienced the exact same issue, not easy to clean at all!

I had a friend's child spill a little bit of milkshake on my TL-S perforated leather seats. The solution is actually pretty simple, besides leather cleaner and soaking it up from the cushion, I had to grab a sewing needle and used the blunt edge of it to clean out the leather holes where they were affected (probably about 2 hours' work).

For that problem, I normally sit in a hot tub for a few hours and let them soak....

Now on a serious note, I would use a "toothpick" to tru and punch the crusties through...Still lots of work but it is a once time thing.
