Tire size fitment on oem wheels!

Do you guys think it's possible to run 245/40/18 on the oem 18" wheels ? I need to buy new tires already because those potenza are already go bald by 15k and during the rain I have absolutely no traction what so ever.

245mm is the width across the tire
18" is the diameter of the rim.....

if the width of the rim is any where from 8inches to 9.5 inches, a 245mm wide tire will fit

right, I was confirming on the wheel and tire specs....
and I think you are wrong, as I checked the interwebz.

the factory 18s are 18x8.5
the factory 17s are 17x7.5

I would not be comfortable putting 245's on the 17x7.5's as 7.5inches is too narrow for a 245mm wide tire.

However, if you do have the 18x8.5, then you will have no problem putting on the 245mm tire, as 8.5inches is in the correct range for a 245mm wide tire

you can always do the math at Tire Size Calculator - Tire & Wheel Plus Sizing

OEM V6 models are 18x7.5
The 4 Cyl is 17 also 7.5

I think that might be pushing it... from both a width perspective and a height perspective. If you're not lowered that will likely leave a noticeable wheel gap since the tire is not as tall. Width wise, that will probably make your side wall pretty soft since the tire is "technically" too wide for the 7.5" wheel width

I'm in the same boat, I'd like to get a thinner profile from a looks perspective since the 50 series is sooooo tall but I'm not sure if I want to give up the performance, ride quality and road noise to do it.
