Powder coat stock rims

Hey guys , I just picked up a new TLX and was thinking about powder coating the stock rims black . My local shop can do all 4 for $400 . Has anybody done this ? I have been looking for pictures but can't find any . Thanks

I too thought of doing powder coating. In my limited observation in other applications (boat TTops), unless the shop is absolutely meticulous in their prep work and application, blistering because of aluminum electrolysis is not uncommon. And then it's a really unsightly mess. But maybe if a clear coat were to be put over the powder coat you might have better long term results?

I've had about 5-6 sets of rims powdercoated. As long as the prep work is done, there won't be any issues

Powder coated my A-Specs 2 years ago (brushed nickel) and they came out great. WAY better than the factory finish that did not hold up well at all.
