2016 TLX SH AWD Advance Package: the remote start works fine but I cannot extend the idle time past the first 10 minutes. I follow the instructions to get the car started (and I can see it is running out of the house window), wait about 30 seconds (car still running) and repeat the steps again: press the Lock button, then hold the Engine button. The fob lights turn yellow, then green - just like it should. However, after 10 minutes (but before 20), the car shuts off and I cannot remotely start it. The fob light turns red when I try. It is like it followed the commands to run 20 minutes but didn't. Am I doing something wrong?
The owners manual isn't clear but it sounds like the 10 minute countdown restarts when the extension is requested. If you only waited 30 seconds you'll get 10 minutes and 30 seconds. Wait 5 min to extend, you should get 15 minutes total and so on.

Eureka! That worked. And that is the beauty of the forums - to get a different perspective. I read the manual 5 times and watched Acura/Honda YouTube videos - they all seemed to indicate that the additional 10 minutes would be added to the END of the original 10 minutes - not from the point of the second activation. Tried it this morning and that was the trick. Thanks.
