The OEM brakes stop ok, but I've had a couple of "oh sh*t" moments trying to slow down rapidly from highway speeds. The stock brakes just don't instill confidence in the stopping ability - IMO.

Any consider installing a Big Brake kit? (I read in a different tread that STOPTECH was developing some, but I just got an email directly from them that they aren't.)

stopping (traction) is a function of the tires.

BBK's help with brake fade, not necessarily with stopping distances.

Yeah, I hear you. I already swapped out those junky OE 18" Bridgestones for some 19" Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06. (These tires are awesome, especially compared to OE.)

^the stoptechs that were developed for the 04-08 TL were actually worse in stopping.
Rotora had made a significantly better than stoptech BBK for the TL.

maybe try emailing Rotora!

Cool. I haven't heard of them before, but their site looks legit. Plus, it's local to So. Cal.
