Injen Cold Air Intake (or any CAI for that matter)

Hello,

Just wanted to see if anyone has successfully installed a CAI (NOT short RAM) on their V6 TLX. I have done some searching and it appears that the Injen CAI for the 13-14 Honda Accords may fit.. But I want to see if anyone else has done so to see how it has worked and how the install would go as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! The CAI in reference is the following:

Robot Check Robot Check

Thanks in advance! Oh, and if this has indeed been done by someone please post some pics of the finished product!

Just to update this.. I'm gonna be the guinea pig here and give this a shot. The one that seems most likely to fit for the V6 is this Injen SP1685 which is made for the V6 accord. The pictures seem to match our engine bay to the tee.. so I bought it and am gonna try to install next weekend.

If this indeed works, we will finally have a CAI for the TLX. I will update this upon completion of the install.

Thank you for your quick reply to my question regarding the best and cheapest way to increase the horsepower on a 2008 RL. You're right about the supercharger and the Turbocharging being the best and most expensive, but there is also the problem of finding a good mechanic or garage that can do the install.

On a 2008 RL? Probably not worth the cost.

Let us know how the Injen intake fitment is. I know K&N has their Typhoon intake out for the TLX now, and Takeda has had their SRI out for a few months. We have both of those listed on our website

K&N:
K&N Intake Kit - Typhoon System Cold Air - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!

Takeda:
Takeda Cold Air Intake - Retain Short Ram - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!

I definitely will! I received it yesterday and popped the hood to compare to the instructions supplied.. It looks like it's basically an identical fit, but I will know more once I get the bumper off and can see down by the intake resonator and wheel well area.

Welp, this didn't work.. It fit all the way down into the wheel well, but the second vibra-mount for the lower half of the intake isn't aligned to anywhere that can be mounted on our cars. It sucked to get the whole way to that part only to find out it wouldn't work.. But it is what it is.

On a sidenote, I now have a still brand new Injen Intake if anyone on here with a V6 Accord needs one. Crappy way to start my Sunday, but it is what it is.

Once you guys get a full CAI in stock please let us know.. I will gladly buy one!

Injen has a CAI for the TLX now. Model number SP1480. I'm planning to either buy that or save for some coilovers.
I read a lot of mixed reviews about CAIs but I think that if they are installed correctly and are the correct part for your car they may increase performance. BTW the SP1480 looks like it can be converted to SRI if you don't attach the arm that goes down into the wheelwell.
