Im Finally ready to purchase coilovers! Can anyone tell me the difference between the Tein Basics and SS? I noticed the SS are more expensive but im not sure why!

with SS you can adjust the rate in which you want soft or hard ride.

i believe they are 16 way adjustable.. also edfc compatible.

The Basics and the SS have the same ride height adjustment but the SS allow you to adjust damping (how soft or firm the ride is).

I'd recommend the SS on the 4G TL; it's worth the extra money.

We have one set in stock.

^^^^^

Unless you also buy the EDFC with which you can adjust the damping setting electronically while in your driver's seat, otherwise you'll have to remove the rear seat every time you wanna adjust the rear shocks.

Didn't think about that! Im in Ohio and we get plenty of snow other than this past winter. WD40 should do the trick?
So I'll have to remove the rear seat to adjust the rear shocks? Hopefully I can get it set to my liking the first time.

Is there another brand of coil overs comparable to the Teins SS?

By playing around with the damping setting between the front shock pair and the rear shock pair, you can dial in the handling characteristic of the car to your liking, from heavy understeer to neutral and even all the way to heavy oversteer.

So during the first couple weeks after the install, leave the rear seat open for easy rear shock adjustments until you have found the best setting for your handling preference.

Our XLR8 ISC coilovers with the Street/Comfort setup is fairly comfortable. It has more ride height and damping adjustment than the TEIN coilovers and it includes aluminum upper mounts.

this is my take at it !!!

if you are looking for ride height adjust-ability, go with coils....

once you at this point:
if you are planning to track your car in the future - Tein SS or ISC N1

if you plan to just drop it and the ride being comfortable and still a little firmer than stock - Tein Basics....

either way I have done ton of business with XLR8 and all i can say is "Josh is an amazing person....and he will do everything in his reach to satisfy his customers"....you should def buy from him no matter what set you get

cerberusky.. i dont think you can compare megan to teins..

its like comparing fiberglass lips to abs.. they both get the job done.. but one does it a lot better.

OR!!!! you could ditch coilovers all together and go with an Air suspension setup like mine or Fyah's.

But, if you must get coilovers get the teins because they are well built and I never had issues while i had them.

How is the ride quality with the SS? Anything out there, aside from air, that will make the ride more comfy than stock? I have the fwd btw

Same question as Milke. How's your setup (Airrex struts and Accuair management) holding up so far? And how's the ride compared to your Tein SS?

Yup, just throwing it out there as another option... I have never used either, but know Tein has a fantastic reputation.
