09 TL - 170,000 - Need to replace struts

HI!

I need to replace the front struts on my 09 TL. I'm still running with the original equipment at 170,000 miles and have developed a clunk in the left front strut.

I've been looking on RockAuto and some other websites but I'm not sure what all parts I should replace. Not sure if I need new springs also? What about the mounting brackets.

I drive a ton of highway miles for work so I'm not really looking so OEM is fine with me.

The plan is to drive the car 2-3 more years.

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, not a very eliciting thread since I'm not looking for a performance upgrade just want to extend the life of my TL (which I love!!!)

Thanks.

I have 230k on my 09 TL that had a clunking noise(and leaking) I just replaced the entire dampter assembly for $162/side - The strut alone is $123, just get the whole assembly and you don't have to mess with compressing the spring etc. Just take the old out, put the new in well worth it to me for all new stuff...
Right Part Number: 51610TK4A03
Left Part Number: 51620TK4A04

I no longer have a clunking noise! :-D

Thanks for the tips.

Where did you order them from ?

Searching for the part numbers that you gave me, I see they are offered on a couple of different websites. Just curious if there is a consensus board favorite.

Thanks again.

I got mine from https://www.parkacuraoemparts.com/ only because they are local to me and I can pick up instead of having them shipped from somewhere.

Thanks for the advise. I now have the acura strut assemblies installed on my 09 TL.

Feels like a new car and no more annoying suspension noises!!!
