Odd Humming Sound when slowing down
Hey Guys,
A strange sound I have heard recently when slowing down. It is like a humming sound almost sounding like electricity buzzing. It typically happens 20-40km and to complete stop. Once the cars stopped in neutral no sound happens. Brakes do not have to be pushed to hear this sound. As when i take my foot off the brake to move up slowly and then press the brake again i can hear the sound. It is not the ATF that is completely different.
Anyone else experience this and know what it may be?
Thanks.

I have 2013 Acura TL Special Edition and I happen to notice the same thing in my car as well, when I drove through the parking lot around 20-30mph. the sound came when I let the gas paddle go, it sounded like somebody was using lawn blower at distant.
Didn't paid much attention to it afterwards, cuz I know my OCD would bother me, now that you have mention it makes me want to research on my car as well.
Anyone know or familiar with this sound please help.

Thats what my car does, I have a 12 awd. I've found out it seems to do it either only or a lot more when I need gas.

propeller shaft may be the source of the noise

Im at a half tank now. And i tried replicating it but could not. I always tend to hear it after leaving the train in the evening after work. I will try to do that then, maybe its when the car is cold. Will let you know.

Yea I'm almost empty and will try to duplicate it tomorrow. What state are you in? I'm in the DC area.

Took it in, they said they could not duplicate the sound. Of course they said that. But on a side note they did duplicate the sound for the ATF gurgling and finally have that fixed. So at least im happy about that. Did say the car was in perfect condition though.

Try shifting into N when you're at that speed. See if the noise is still there. If its gone, then you can rule out the drive train.
Ive had a humming noise at idle and slow speed. Found out while changing the timing belt that the outer belt (ac,alternator ) tensioner pulley bearing was worn to death.

Its not gas levels, I have a full tank of gas, and it's not engine temp I don't think because the car was at normal operating temp.
It it happens every time I've been driving above 40mph and then decelerate (to come to a stop sign, for example).
It's killing me softly (and loudly if the window is rolled down). HELP!

My sound is gone, that sound was from my failing alternator. Sadly mine failed at 148,709 KM while I was on my way to my shop to get it replaced. Car just stalled all kinds of warning popped up and on top driving on highway. With no power this electric steering was heavy turning but safely no one was behind me and I was able to pull over on right even the brakes were hard to press.
I am surprised my alternator failed that early.

Are you sure it was your alternator? What would cause it to make that sort of noise as it fails? And how long was it making that sound before it died?
I hate the idea of having to replace that. Was it expensive?

Yes, battery wasn't charging and I got Check Charging System. At the dealer they quote $1500 CDN but I did it from small shop iGarage at $580 installed.
