It's from rock chips. I'm on the highway at least 250 miles a week and though I try not to ride close to the car in front of me (or behind trucks at all) there's only so much I can do. I have a few on my hood too.
Fortunately the chips aren't growing (i.e. paints not peeling) so I don't believe it's an issue with the paint work.
I just fill in the spots with a sharpie (gotta love CBP) and will plan to have it re-painted at some point in the future. Then I may get a clear bra just for the grille.

Thanks man I can't take any props on this one that was all the wife. I was leaning to painting the entire grille she wanted to do this to look more subtle like the 12's so I sent it to Brian and he made the Magic happen. It did come out great though... Really happy with the outcome and Brian's paint work..
and boy did ya'll pull a thread from the dead and bring it back... LoL
Here's a more recent pic showing the Grille..

Thanks!, I just had Brian do the rear piece as well and installed it right after Christmas. I still need to send him the core back... It add's a lot as well... I also got her headlights from a 2012 for Christmas with the black insides... Do when I get around to installing them we'll see how the current grill works may have to get Brian to do the center as well if it doesn't match anymore since we're getting rid of all the rest of the silver on the front of the car...

Well mostly everything is installed that Santa brought... and after doing the 2012 headlights, and wrapping the parking lights to make them look smaller like the AWD, the silver beak center will be painted very soon it no longer matches the look... and on top of that the chrome window and roof trim has to go away as well... I got a huge roll of 1080 gloss black for Xmas to do the wheels on my truck but I think it will be better used on the window trim on the 4G... and maybe the truck just gets new wheels >wink<
