Hey man, now that you have had a chance to ride on the coils for a while, how do they compare to the springs. The time is nearing to swap out the wifey's wheel and lower it. I know coilovers offer the adjustability, but from a comfort standpoint are they the same as the springs were? Thanks and as always... love the ride!

Sup BG...I initially had the Eibach Springs...those were okay compared to stock and certain streets it was somewhat bumpy...On the springs...the front seemed lower than the rear. Plus the springs were the only things available for our ride at the time. Now that I have the Tien SS w/EDFC. The drop is perfect.... If you are looking for comfort...I mean if you want to keep you wife happy with the comfort than I would suggest the Tein Coilovers. She may complain if she is used to stock and you put on springs. The EDFC makes it convenient to have when you have the Tein SS..it has 3 memory setup's so depending on the freeway or street you can adjust to be stiffer or softer with a push of a button...very convenient. The coils do bring it as close to stock. Also you can adjust the height. So basically you cant go wrong. The only thing is that your wife has to know how to drive a lowered vehicle...especially up driveways or into Gas stations...etc....or their goes the front end!!!

Because of the recent rains in California...the streets and even freeways have some nasty potholes that I have to dodge like an IED. So every other week I give the TL a week off and use the Expo. Good Luck with it...what kind of wheels are you gonna put on?

Thanks for the insight man I am a big coilover guy myself. I used to run KW's on one of my old euro's. I like the way you put it, happy wife = happy life With that being said, she would most likely be the happiest with coils. She has had some pretty good practice driving around lowered cars and a good instructor at that

As for wheels, im still undecided. I dont want to break the bank just to have her jack em up, but at the same time im a wheel whore and realize the importance of a nice set of shoes... Last ride had 5 sets of wheels in the 2 1/2 years of ownership. Sold it with a set of staggered 3piece iforged aeros on it...

little whoring

hahah thanks man..hands down the TL's is nicer. Almost made my interior feel really outdated

Performance wise, they are about equal stock for stock. Add a dp, exhaust and tune and the R was a monster..Gobs of torque. I was close to 400hp before I sold it about a month ago. Handling though, the TL is a lot better, even when I had sways, lowering springs, and F&R strut baces. Oh well...

I will be living vicariously through the wifey's TL

great looking 4G! its one of two colors that really make the 4G look hot....doesnt hurt to have a nice drop and some wheels to go along with it though

and its interesting that Acura went with the all red tail light look in 2012....MUCH better than that nasty chrome trim. they need to drop that trend!

^ Thanks! Yeah I am not sure why they even went with the chrome trim on the tails...I am sure the thought of chrome goes with luxury....NOT in this case! Although with the "newly refined" 2012 model It now blends in with the rest of the cars out there. My ride continues to be a head turner...who knows...they could be saying ewwww WHAT DA FAWK is that?

777, any regrets tinting tail lights red from the smoked you had before ? I can't seem to decide if I should smoke them or put red tint like either yours with the backup lights cut out or like FYAH's fully red. My TL is CBP.

^ No Regrets..I did like the Blacked out Tail light look for a bit but didnt want to keep looking out for Cops. I already paid $290 I believe for a ticket on the Tails and Window Tint. Plus I started noticing all kinds of cars with the Blacked Tail light look. I do prefer the Red Tint...Looks more simple and subtle. Plus the brake lights are brighter. I used to have friends follow me and they would say the signal lights or brake lights are hard to see. Don't want to get rear ended! All in all happier witht the RED TINT! Plus Acura went ALL red with the 2012...HA!

I went with full red. I found a shop that had red tint vs Laminx and I think the color of brake lights actually looks dimmer but the color is a perfect match to red reflectors. It was really funny when I got to the shop they had 4 ransoms cars in a row and all 4 had their tail lights smoked and when I asked that I wanted full red he looked at me like I was crazy. I looked at the 4 cars they had outside the shop and I think he understood. Love the red, gives this awesome polish type of look. Thanks for converting me !!

Brought my ride to the dealership to exchange my grill. My original was slowly peeling. Luckily it was under warranty. They took care of me.

Funny thing was when I pulled up. Couple of the sales folks came up and said what year is that. I responded its the special edition 2013. They were like really...looks nice! HAHA!
