Yo I was there having dinner with my wife and son lol. I figured you rolled there with the Audi. Yeah that was most likely me. My wife works at the gap, so I go there often.
#42
Guess you parked there to avoid door dings too huh. Hahaha

Yup. Was gonna park out back, then I caught a glimpse of your car. So I figured I park there for the picture. Saw your car at Bradley fair today also lol. I had lunch with my wife

Lol. Did the gap get hit with a shoplifter that day? I left the store and as I drove away, I saw the door swing open fast and this lady bolted out the door and towards her car. She reversed out and left BF pretty fast too. Lol.

Ahhh not as yet. Suppose to be tomorrow buuuut, there was a little mix up at the shop currently paint matching the front one (Oils on it started bubbling up while it was in the oven so they have to sand it all down and redo it {Ebay ftw right?}) and just waiting now. Buuut I'm hoping for my wheels to be finished and mounted tomorrow hopefully.

Damn man, that sucks...It might not be a eBay thing. Sounds like the shop might not have cleaned it properly before painting.

Nah, just ebay stuff being ebay like haha. My buddy is getting his e46 M3 wrapped and needed a new front bumper. Ordered one from across seas and it's being just as stubborn. Wrap ain't sticking to it at all. So the shop that's doing mine is gonna paint his so the wrap has something to stick to.

honestly, that's how I feel about ordering stuff on ebay. It's always a gamble...hahaha

Starting tablet radio install
Didn't think I would start this project until later but came across a working oem deck for a $100 shipped on eBay so I snagged it up. Wanted to go with an iPad mini but it was too big. Same with the nexus 7. The Samsung tab 4 seems to fit the best. I scored a used Tab 4 on eBay for $37 bucks shipped. The easy part is done now the hard part starts. I will need to glue the tray to the faceplate and start shaping the dash. This will take awhile because I want the shape to come out right. Oh, I will be wrapping the tablet in black vinyl. Hopefully I can finish this project by the end of the month. I've only spent 2 days (1-2 hour each day) because it's been hot and pretty much I've just been lazy.

Radio circuit
I've chopped off the volume knob so the tray will fit. I'll still be able to control the radio through my steering wheel and change settings with the bottom knob. If anybody needs any top buttons let me know. Other wise I'll be tossing them soon.

The Original Shawdy
Looking much better. Should add the rear lip, it completes the look and gives it a sportier rear.

I certainly like seeing unique mods and respect people who put work and thought into their projects. It is easy to slap on wheels, lower a car, put on an exhaust etc. but doing things differently and cleanly requires patience and thought
I think you may have to consider changing your thread title .

I thought about changing the thread title but not sure how to change it. I can’t seem to find where I can edit it. Haha

Thanks man and you are correct. It's pretty much a docking station since I can charge it once slide into the dash. I like having it that way so my tablet isn't sitting in the car all the time. KS summers can get pretty hot.

Oem amp was starting to go out so I did a little minor upgrade. Installed a Alpine UTE62BT and Alpine-KTP-445A 4channel amp. I didn't want to cut up my center dash so I installed the radio in my glove compartment. Only thing I had to cut was the middle tray in the glove compartment. The amp fit perfectly behind my tablet. Went with red at first but it was too flashy so I went with black. The faceplate is made out of 1/8'' thick abs sheet and is wrap with vvivid faux leather adhesive wrap. I know this setup isn't the best setup but it is definitely a big improvement in sound quality from the oem setup. The radio, amp and harness cost me less than $200. A used oem amp was going for $120-$170 shipped.

Yeah, I spoken to the guy in the 4th gen facebook group that was doing it. He was charging 200-300 I think. I don't quite remember how much it was exactly. Other members who had it done said it was a night and day difference. I think Heeltoe is providing that service too now for the advance systems.
