carbonTSEX's Build & Photo Thread!!!

Welcome everyone,

As some of you know, I use to have a TSX built for show and go. I decided to part out after my wife and I picked up the 2014 CBP Acura TL SH. I have been around but never really posted because the car wasn't ready to show. I have been stacking up a few parts over the past few months. Today, I finally found time to put the TL together. Not sure as of know what else I plan to do as I've had the car since the end of December. Sitting at 4000 miles since I only take it out on the weekend. This build wouldn't of been possible without my wife's support of my hobby. So shoutout to her and lets get on to the TL!!!

First: This was my 2004 Acura TSX 6spd that I parted out but after today, it was totally worth it!

Rears with dampener extensions for rear! I have them installed so you can adjust rear damper from back seat. Best feature!

One of the best looking TL in seattle. The long wait for parts is well worth it. We need to meet up soon to see that beast....lol

Read many of your posts and it is nice to see you finally started a thread.

Sweet progress.

Adjusting the rear dampening without removing the seat is a great idea .

Nice build!
Did you have to roll or pull your front fenders?
That dampner extention..you still have to remove the rear seats right?

@Jauijao Thanks! Gotta represent for Washington! Haha. Not sure what my next mod will be. Probably get another set of hid's for the fogs and change out the DRL's. I actually like the factory orange for corners and switchbacks on CBP. I had 8k hid fogs before but have them to my brother for his Honda Fit. I'll be going with 3k most likely. Other then that we'll have to wait and see. I have a couple other plans but not 100% on them yet.

@maxikeem thanks buddy. It was a hard few months having parts sitting, just waiting to be installed. Well worth the part out and wait however. Yes, we'll meet up sometime so you can see it.

@karkraze I hate that I wasn't able to post much other then my stock ride. Just becoming more knowledgable on the 4g while I waited. It's very similar to the TSX so I know a decent amount. I felt it was time to start a thread now that it's worth of one haha. BC made me the best combination of street/track/show for my setup. I couldn't be happier with them. They always give you a few extra parts that you may not use but when I saw the extenders and how they were just tall enough to clear the back of the seats. That made me love them even more! Your build with the custom parts is the shit! It's the little stuff that separates you from the rest.

@Drewq35 At the height it's set at now, I did not roll the fenders. I am trying to avoid it while maxing out the space. Rears are really close but I need to install the adjustable ball joints still. Though it surprisingly doesn't rub. Fronts still have room to play so I'll be getting a bigger tire eventually but these tires are super sticky and 90% tread. Coils still need time to settle and I'll be tweaking it again.

As for the dampened extension, I actually don't need to remove the seats. They are tall enough to be adjusted from the top of the seat with it closed. I'll snap a picture of it in a sec. Best/most helpful idea I have seen! I hated it on my TSX because you had to remove the side cushion and it still was really tight. I decided to leave them exposed rather then tucking them cuz I rarely ever ride 3 deep. Usually just the wife and I. I've tested them and they work perfectly.

Yes I know there is a multi chat button but this works for me haha. Thanks for all the kind words. You'll be seeing more of my TL. I'll be posting pictures a lot.

So the extension came with the coils? I would love to be able to get one so that I can use on my Teins SS. Are they the normal hex tool key? So I guess you just push the extension down between the seat cushion and back deck?

I had to roll my rears...they didnt rub unless I hit a nice dip in the road going to fast. Otherwise i had probaly 1/4 in gap between the tire and fender. The fronts dont rub....but now after getting the rear rolled it seems like I need to go lower.

Thanks Terdonal. Tsx had too many mods. Lol that's why the TL is clean and simple.

Here's a couple shots of the dampers. They have a cap that goes over the original dial that you use a alan key to tighten. Then it extends out from there and has another dial on the top. They click really easy. I could tuck them in between the seats but I kinda like how the extend out and it's not a distraction.

I think I have a thing for gold! Haha. I ran BC Racing on my TSX but with factory springs rates and without the extreme drop kit. Loved them, which is why I chose to go BC again. Plus I got a sweet deal on this set I couldn't pass up. After seeing the extenders I love them even more. More companies need to start doing this son de cars and getting more and more tight and hard to work on. Make it easier for the owners to adjust.

super jealous of those extensions for the back seat...can't stand having to negotiate with my back seats and my patience every time i want to experiment with an adjustment.

I really fuckin like those rims, and perhaps it's just me, but they look like they're poking out a bit too much? you've got the entire sidewall hanging out lol

That's what you get when you run 20x10.5 +25 on 255 series. Like mentioned above. I only had enough time to install the adjustable toe bars and didn't install the adjustable ball joints for camber. It's not complete yet. Once I have those installed I will be pushing the tops in more. I like the flush look on the TL though. It needs an aggressive stance to compliment it's big body. I wasn't interested in tucking rim. Stance to make her dance! I accept all positive and negative criticism. It's still in the works.

Mine too....let me know what you come up with. I'm just think maybe going to home depot to find a long allend key and making a nob for it, but also making a way for it to stay connect to the coilover.

Will do.

Your idea will only work for the front, the rear will need a flexable attachment,i will update my thread when I do it.

Thanks. The height now isn't bad but it could use a few adjustments as soon as I find time to install my rear ball joints. It's the rear that is a little higher then I'd like. Not interested in scraping in this car since it's new. So it'll be lower for shows. Since those pictures I did remove the front air splitter to gain more clearance since that was most likely to scrape. Gotta keep everything mint.

Tsx was a different story since it was all mine haha. But until I get my wife a new car the TL is functional for her as well. Eventually this car will be bagged.

Camber kit and alignment finally finishing on Wednesday. Gonna dial in some camber and drop the rear down more. Gotta get ready for the Acura of Lynnwood show on Sunday. Cars been sitting for the last couple weeks.

I've been debating on running 255/35 all around or 245/35 all around. Either way I have to swap all 4. Just worried about the clearance up front with the 255/35. I've seen them in person on a local here and it look like it barely fit. I'd have to get the spc from adjustable ball joints.
