Thanks guys for the input. I like it better without the inserts and my wife loved the inserts so I'll put the inserts back on for a couple of weeks to keep the peace in the family. I'll take em off later and wrap it in vinyl. I'm trying to figure out the color of the vinyl for now.

Custom finish or wrap them in a darker color, then you can keep them opn and still give the wheel the same look as without-inserts. Great customer, awesome pics, everybody is happy!!

I feel mixed. I liked them with and without the inserts. I wouldn't go too dark on the inserts otherwise whats the point of them. Maybe wrap them then shoot them with a can of OEM paint. Would be interesting. Rims look great though.

Thank You Sir! Great business attracts great customers. I can't be happier with the wheels and the whole experience.

I was thinking of wrapping the inserts in a pearl white vinyl but my distributor does not have that kind in stock. I'll have to check eBay.

One of the things I really like about the rims is that you have so many options to customize them as oppose to other wheels out there.

I'll post some more photos once I wrap the inserts.

car looks way better without inserts...

i know you said you can't lower it.. but oh man.. is that thing SCREAMING to be lowered... it looks amazing now..but if you dropped it on Tein's or H&R springs it would look soooooooo much better..... it would be perfect!!

what do you think about your tail light tint? was it hard to put on? i don't have the skills toput it on... but would consider the same mod and pay someone to install. what woudl they charge to do that job? i like how it looks smoked..but not all blacked out dark... from your pics it looks like you can still see that htey are red..they just look slightly darker/smoked.. is that how it looks in person?

nice!

Thanks but lowering is not an option for me as i will not be able to get out of my driveway and I would not trust my wife with a lowered car also. She drives it more than I do.

The look of the smoked tails is just what I was looking for. It looks slightly smoked when(classic) when it's overcast and when it's really sunny out it looks alot darker, almost(aggressive). It took me about 1.5 hours to do. I tint tail and headlights on the cars as a side business so have some experience doing it. It's not the easiest tail lights as it's curvy but it was ok. I would not know how much the shops in your area charge to tint as prices vary.

I didn't really solve it yet. I touched it up with oem paint and and it looks ok from about 4 feet and further but if you look at it closer it looks horrible. It maks me wanna cry every time I see it and believe me I see it every day because I know it's there.

NEVER use touch up paint on body panels. The only place that stuff is somewhat acceptable is in door jams, engine bay, or the bottom of your spoiler. Anywhere else and you're just making something bad look worse.

I understand that but I had the paint completely scraped off in 3 places by whoever drove into my bumper. So black plastic is very visible on a wdp bumper. All I did is touched it up to blend the black spots in with the rest of the bumper until I figure out a way of permanently fixing the issue. At least now it does not look as obvious.

So if you have a stone chip or two on your hood what would you do? Repaint the whole hood or just let it rust?

ive used it with great results.. but then again.. its more then just dab and wait for dry.. it will require wetstand and buff..

for all you lazy people.
Now for some touch-up

The Front fender had a rock chip that was starting to Rust, I first began by taking a razor blade and flaking away all of the paint that was flaking off and then I scraped all of the rust away as much as I could. Just try to scrape off as much as you can until you dont see any more.

Then it turned into this ( bare shiny metal)

Then I dabbed some of the Dupli-Color 2in1 touch up paint into the chip letting it dry for about 10-15 until it hardened.

After the paint dries it seeps into the chip and settles down. Somtimes you only have to apply paint once but in this case I had to put down 2 layers.

I taped arround this so I have a clean wetsand area, you can tell in the pics how much it settled into the chip

I worked on the panel while the touch up was drying.

after the second coat of touch up It turned out like this

Then After it was Fully Dried I wet sanded with 2000 grit paper and here is what it looked like

After that I buffed it out with my flex and here is the Final Outcome (not %100 but close)

and Walaaaaa!!

Wr00m - your car looks great! I was looking at getting 10 spoke wheels (Elbrus 108) that look similar to your RJ's, and your pictures are helping me finalize my decision. I love the clean, classy look of your ride!

Lowering with springs or coilovers might not be an option.. that's why they make air rides

I had some blue semi-transparent vinyl leftover so I've decided to wrap my chrome door handles as well as the mirror turn signals. I also wrapped the "A" emblem, just the letter A, in the front in light smoke vinyl. Check it out and let me know if I should keep any of it or get rid of it. The beauty of vinyl is that you can always take it off.

Smoked or Blue was trying to decide:

Finally went with blue:

If you compare the 3rd and 4th pictures from the bottom you will see the difference in none wrapped and wrapped "A".

I liked the smoked(black chrome effect) at first but the blue matches the bluish side mirrors and my Quantum tint so it'll have to be a blue chrome effect.

+1, I also like the turn signals mirrors more this way. But I can't tell the difference in the "A".

I dodn't want it to stand out, blend in with the black background in this case, so I wrapped it in very light smoke vinyl. I agree the difference is minimal for the "A" but if you look closer and compare the 2 pictures below you will see the difference.

I like it with no inserts also but I also like to experiment. I will try and wrap the inserts in white diamond pearl vinyl and see if it looks good.

Here is another pic of the wrapped door handles.

RJ Harrow CF inserts

Got a sample of silver carbon fibre vinyl today and wrapped all RJ Harrow chrome inserts in it. Wanted to wrap my beak with it as well but this vinyl is made for flat surfaces and there was no way for me to apply it without some major creases.

I also rewrappe my "A" logo on the front with light tint and cf vinyl on the background. Did not take pics of it yet as it was dark. Will take em and post them tomorrow.

Check out the inserts and let me know if you like it or should I take em off.

I decided to redo the "A" badge as it was not visible enough so I tinted the "A" and the o-ring around it in light smoke. I also added silver carbon fiber vinyl inserts in the badge so the "A" stands out more and now it also matches my inserts on the RJ Harrows.

Like the CF on the harrow's, the CF behind the "A" also looks good BUT the CF pattern isn't uniform on both sides of the "A". If you could do it again with 1 circlurlar piece it would be perfect.

Thanks. I still can't decide if I like the inserts or like it more with no inserts. It's like to different sets of wheels.

LOL. Man, you've got a good eye. I knew that someone will spot it. I noticed the screw up with the CF pattern right after I put everything back together and it was bothering me as well as I like things to look clean but it was late at night and I decided to redo it later. Now every time I look at it, it "pokes" me right in the eye. I gotta get more CF and redo it this weekend.

It's not too bad, I only noticed it because of the medium distance and close up pictures. Did you have a chance to fix it yet?

No, I ran out of the CF vinyl. Waiting to see if I can get some more.

I had a day off yesterday and decided to wrap my roof, GPS shark fin and part of my roof spoiler gloss black vinyl. Got lots of air bubbles but hopefully those go away in a week or 2. If it doesn't get better I'll just take the vinyl off, that's the beauty of it.

Here it is:

Looks good. Was it easy to do? What did you use?

Thanks!

It was NOT easy to do by myself. With the removal of the chrome molding on the roof, shark fin and prep of the roof before wrapping, it took about 7 hours. I'd say that if I have known how to remove the shark fin and the chrome molding on the roof AND I had a helper, I'd do it in 2 - 3 hours easily.

Another thing is I could not wrap the roof spoiled completely and I've spent some time on it. I finally just wrapped the top(front) part of it and cut out the bottom(back) part that is facing the back window so it's WDP on the back. I think it still look good that way.

For the vinyl I used Oracal 751 black gloss.

I actually like the look of the high gloss black,i have thought of that mod several times but am always hesitant to go ahead.

There was a G37 in my street that had it and it looked really good, that is how i originally got the idea.
