Thanks, Steven. For whatever reason, the camera doesn't pick up the pure white light of the setup. It always shows up in pictures looking yellow. My friend who is a professional photographer explained the reasoning to me but he may as well have been speaking Latin. Lol. The lights are actually all pure white, no yellow at all.

Damn, can't believe I haven't looked through your thread before. It's coming along nicely!
It's funny that lift3d mentioned those wheels from your RL on the TL kinda looked like my setup...I was thinking the same thing!
I do want to mention that though my wheels are only 8.5" wide (+35 offset), I also have 255/35/20 tires. Before I lowered I rubbed on some dips / bumps...particularly with someone in the back seat. As a result I ended up rolling my rear fenders. You may want to keep an eye on that once it warms up and you put them on because I'm sure you'll have the same problem.

I figured there was a chance they might rub a little bit BTW. It seems like it's about 50/50 around here as to whether or not the 255/35R20's on a +35 wheel will rub. The same setup rubbed on my RL a little in the rear. When I test fit them on the TL I took it out for some aggressive driving and didn't get any rubbing but the tires currently on the wheels are mostly worn out Continental DW's and the Super Sports tend to run a little wider. I'm prepared to roll the fenders if necessary. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks, Steven. I wasn't really planning on doing anything more than installing the new sensors, mounting/balancing the tires and taking them for a test drive before slapping the winter tires back on. The only reason I'm purchasing them now is because of the pricing I get on them now vs if I wait until the summer. I will confess I am giddy about them right now. I put them on the wife's TL and it makes me jealous every time I drive it. When I originally put the 20's on my RL, I was buying wheels and tires, my wife was pregnant with our daughter and I couldn't justify the added cost of the Michelin's over the Continental's at the time. I've wanted them ever since.

Shes looking real good so far!
Was curious on the V-LED 6k bulbs in the puddles, were they a pain to install? or did you have someone else do them? They look great, been thinking about doing them myself.
Thanks!

Thanks. The bulbs are easy to install. There is a write up around here somewhere that goes into detail. You just pop out the lens with a small screwdriver or trim puller, disconnect the harness, swap the bulb and reverse the process. You will probably have to bend the little metal tabs a bit to widen them but it's really simple.

Summer wheels are on for now. I can bolt the winter wheels back onto the car in under 20 minutes if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Mounted and balanced my new tires on them this morning too, 255/35R20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport's.
I'm pretty sure I have my mods list all planned out. Getting the OEM lip kit before it can't be found in my color anymore, followed by Tein Street Advance coilovers with the EDFC Active Pro kit. Somewhere along the line I will be getting the CT IceBox, a J-Pipe of some sort, XLR8 catback and Sarona roof wing. I don't think I will really mod the car much past that but you never know.

Sick TL!!!!
Given your line of work, what is your professional opinion on tire stretching? I'll be honest, I'm already assuming what your answer is, but it's such an ongoing debate, and I really enjoy hearing from tire professionals specifically.
For context, I ran my first stretched setup this summer, and have a pretty neutral outlook on it. I LOVED how low I could go on my coils with the stretch, but also felt a big difference in how the car handled. I don't think I would ever put "proper" sized tires on simply because the drop sells it for me, but I'm always curious about other people's opinions. Picture for reference:
(running 225/35 on 20x9 and 255/30 on 20x10)
Thanks in advance! I've enjoyed your thread so far

Got a good deal on the Wind and Fire LED logo puddle so I thought I'd give them a try. I don't know if I'll keep them long term but they're a cool little novelty right now.
I'm in the process of selling the RV-6 J-Pipe I never got to install on my RL. Hopefully will have either a J-pipe or Tein SA's for this car in the coming weeks.

We're at similar stages in our mods. I have a Black TL with Umber and I'm in the process of having my lip kit installed with roof spoiler. Installed MagnaFlow mufflers and Takeda SRI. Bought new halogen head and fog lights but haven't installed yet. Have been looking at rims and think I'm going to go with 20" Niche M150's. I saw that you sell rims/tires for a living and wanted your professional opinion. I want to go with 20x10 or 20x10.5 and have a nice meaty tire with no stretch. I was thinking of going with 255/40/20 (I know most shops recommend 35 but I want the extra meat for the potholes) is that possible / recommended? If not, should i go with 19's with a 40 tire? Should I go with 265 or 275 instead? 10 or 10.5? (Not dropping the car) love your mods by the way.

If you don't want to stretch tires at all, I would go with 9" wide wheels with a 245 or 255. As far as a taller sidewall, 255/40R20's are probably not going to fit, especially if you are ever going to lower it. If you want a taller sidewall you will have to go with a smaller wheel like a 19".

I want the 10.5 wheel though so I get a nice deep concave look. What tire size would you recommend for a rim that wide? I don't plan on lowering it, I'm more concerned with comfort / potholes. Width 265? Height 40? Did you get the lip kit yet? If not I can tell you were you can get it, cheap too.

^^^That is a 255/35R20 on a 9" wide wheel. You can imagine that to have a similar fitment on a 10.5" wide wheel, you would need basically a 285-295mm wide tire. I get what you are trying to accomplish but you're going to have to sacrifice to get there. The only way a 10.5" wide wheel is going to clear on your vehicle is by stretching a tire on it so the sidewalls angle enough to clear the fenders. This will also reduce ride quality drastically because the sidewalls will not be able to properly absorb bumps in the road.

Honestly, I didn't measure it before and after. I just installed it at Tein's recommended initial ride height for now. If I had to guess, I'd say 1.75" in the front and 1.5" in the rear.

The Teins ride surprisingly nice. No noticeable jarring or anything. The rears rub. Hoping to find somebody that can roll them tomorrow so I don't have to deal with rubbing in the rear for the next week or so.

Well, I'm not really sure. I was under the impression they were 16-way adjustable but I counted 28 clicks from full soft to full stiff. I'm currently set at 6 from full stiff on the rear and 5 clicks from full stiff on the front.

ok cool i'm on 4r 2f right now..... waiting on a alignment to get the full effect in to see if i'll keep it that way.
