Yeah. I don't see why they wouldn't come out without a resonated version. I think the majority of us would purchase that one.

This was done on the Dynapack, but for some reason the TL's computer was fighting the dyno so we were getting mixed results. But, we will most likely go to another dyno to see if we can get better results. So, I am just posting at least the sound quality. Remeber, this is without resonators and the techs started the pull from 3rd or 4th gear, so at very low rpms the exhaust and car had a lot of vibrations. Those that have experience driving manuals should understand this.

I understand, none of these videos do the exhaust justice...but from what I am hearing compared to XLR8, this one has a deeper tone without the raspiness and not as loud. But, I can't comment on XLR8s exhaust because I haven't heard it in person. I can only comment what I have heard and ATLP's. Also, this is only the CB...stock Cat and J-Pipe.

If anyone is in the Manhattan Beach, CA area...you are more than welcome to come by and check out the exhaust for yourself.

I will try to get some drive by's as soon as I can find a quiter place without any interruptions.

No raspiness here, sound is somewhere between American muscle and a 911.

Edit: after hearing the sound clip, there's no comparison.

American muscle? From what I have heard on those videos, american muscle does not come to mind at all, not even new muscle... I grew up with and owned cars that had that deep V8 rumble. Sorry to say but what I heard on the videos for the XLR8 were not anywhere close to that. To me, the sound is closer to what I hear from the guys with those buzzing mufflers on the 4-bangers.

I guess me and all the people that purchased the system are just lying about it. Yup, total conspiracy.

I compared my note to a friends' 96' v8 camaro and the sound was very similiar.

Edit: except it was more refined as american muscle cars make a gargling type noise.

Thanks for the comparisons, but like I said...videos don't do any of the exhausts justice...both XLR8 and ATLP...some may have the CB only, while others have J-pipe, HF/No Cat, and RES/NonRES. So, I'm not what you mean by 'no comparison'? But I appreciate your input.

No need to be such a dick about it, but it seems the norm if one has a counter opinion here.

As I said, I am comparing to what I heard on the videos and there is NO deep rumble, period.

To each their own, if you like that tone, more power to you.

XLR8's sound nice but imo they don't come anywhere near v8 sound. This is my FWD 4G with ATLP j-pipe, test pipe, and catback. I too feel that the ATLP are a bit deeper than XLR8's.

Now those I like! Thanks eazy. They are deeper sounding than the XLR8's.

Thanks Stew . I'm sure with J-pipe and a 3rd cat delete on the AWD version it'll sound close to the same but most likely deeper.

I personally heard the exhaust on Easy who has the ATLP and blackura who has the XLR8 on a meet in NY at the same time and This what I think: the look of the ATLP is cleaner looking than the XLR8,The sound of the of the XLR8 is a little fuller kind of what Heart_TL said, if I would to buy one just in looks and sound I would buy the ATLP. It just sounds and looks more refined than the XLR8, again this is my personal preference.

I must say that I have to agree with HeartTL... I saw your TL a few days and was able to hear the exhaust note, It has a very deep sound very similar to american muscle, as he drove off and drove around the corner I was able to hear him from blocks away. The sound is AMAZING, but it might be too much for some, which is why i believe more will turn to ATLP. I personally liked it, and btw very nice whip Heart, saw you around 174th a few days ago

^^ I'm actually going to meet the guy in San Diego since I will be in the area so that he can check the exhaust out personally.

I will also be heading to Oxnard this weekend, which is north west of LA. Less cars and away from the freeways, so I will be getting some fly bys and in cabin videos.

Haha, thanks. I was at WOT after the corner trying to catchup to BLACKURA. I find it really funny that Stew insists the sound produced is similar to the rattling swarm of bees sound civics produce; when's the last time you've witnessed other motorist change lanes to accommodate a "4 banger"? Whenever i get behind someone and get my revs up (even taxi caps), it's become quite common for them to get out of my lane.

I say it sounds closer to the ricer sound than a V8 muscle car. What do I have to compare it to? The video and my V8 truck with a Magna-flo cat back.

To each their own.. If you like it, more power to you. Enjoy it. I don't and I choose with my wallet.

I could not live with that buzzing coming from my car

Why does everyone try to say what ATLP sounds like??? It sounds like ATLP! Must be heard to be appreciated.

IMO, they sounds EURO...like a BMW. The right combo of deep sounds and aggressive tones to really get you going, but not be annoying.

Sadly, I cannot hear these in real life unless someone in my area goes for it.. all I have is the videos to go by.

Good luck on your sales though.

BTW, we still have no confirmation of these fiting the '12 with the redesign (tuck in) of the rear valance, do we?

Cause I have one!

but I agree. I wouldn't say that the xlr8's sound like 4 bangers cause they don't(maybe stew's talking about drone) but i loved my ATLP since the day I put down my deposit cause the ATLP's on the 3G were sex on wheels too. Whichever way you go, it'll be a good upgrade to your car

According to the Acura parts guy I just talked to, Acura changed the exhaust system for the 12. They have run both pipes back instead of just one like the 09-11

I think the 09-11 FWD's are the ones that changed if they said it runs dual pipes instead of single. Mine only runs single. I believe the SHAWD's have always been dual pipe

According to my research 10-11 are the same...I have looked at diagrams of 12 and they look the same as well although I cannot verify by part number. I see no reason for 09-12 to take different parts at this time.

Benardi Acura has the parts numbers

18307-TK5-A11 -- for the 12'
18307-TK5-A01 -- for the 09

thats for the main pipe with the y merge -- it's the same part, same price same drawing -- nothing other then year to year incremental changes.
