it should be very similar to the FWD version visually and fitment.

Post #62, this is Mike's FWD. Saw it in person at AFest last year, looks and sounds awesome

^ Thanks for posting the link ... somehow I missed that thread. Believe those pics have convinced me which option to go with - bodykit wise. Those and the exhaust will complete the package.

If I see Marcus on wednesday, I will ask on pricing and see if their will be a discount on pre-sale or something. I will keep you guys posted!

Car is in the shop, the design and fitment should finish today after 2PM PST, from there, Scott will ask how Marcus wants it to be done.
The Fab guy (looks like Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs!)does a lot of exhaust work for STi's, and one thing he suggested to me was a single pipe then split after the rear axles. This will save on costs, but of course the "near true dual" will be gone. He needs to talk to Marcus about this.
What do you guys think?? Post it up so that way we can get this finished up! Of course, its up to Marcus, but also to the customers!

I think we should retain the look and function of the near true dual setup - as this is the way it is from the factory. If we go the route you illustrate above it'd be nothing more than the FWD setup with different mounting points.
The SH-AWD setup should have something to differentiate itself from the FWD setup - both in exhaust tone, aesthetics, and execution....
IF ATLP / Marcus decides do go that route... I'll most likely go custom - as the OEM setup already utilizes a split after the 3rd cat. Why move backwards?
If someone is really worried about cost, perhaps this exhaust isn't for them?.??

Got my car back, one more session and thats it, the exhaust will be done. Won't meet again for another 10 days. I am not entirely sure what the exhaust layout will be, I know the mufflers will stay the same. If i hear from Marcus, I'll extend the information here.

Just got off the phone with Marcus and this is what he tells me:
-Like aforementioned, the Y-Pipe will be slightly shorter (Single pipe for about 2-3 ft)
-From the cat collector the stock is actually 3", but splits immediately after with an unequal pipe on the driver side (Slightly longer)
-The y-pipes then are actually about 2.5" in diameter, so we'll be sticking with the 3" from where the stock collector is all the way down to the muffler
-We will be trying to flow things out evenly so that way we can extract as much HP as possible
-Scott (Fab guy), is going to make a mock/junk exhaust and go off of that for the prototype.
-Will be doing some sound testing to assure good quality sound
-Try to do a dyno before and after
-Ball park price range is going to be around $1300-$1500 for the system **This is just an estimate and just a preliminary price**
-Marcus will talk to Scott regarding the next meet, because Marcus wants this to be completed
If you have any questions, post it up and I will try to answer them. Thanks!

Jnc- the cost saving thing was just a suggestion by Scott, and Marcus mentioned he didn't care about that and cared about what works best
To add, the price is also in consideration of the added material on a near true dual. Marcus wanted to keep the aspect of the factory layout but with a little more functionality, which I do agree with. This setup will have a slightly better ground clearance then stock.

Fallen thanks so much for your posts! Really super helpful
Anyway he got it pretty much figured out and posted as it was meant to be. We couldn't get a sample done because we needed the 3" flange to go onto the converter. We are hoping to make a cat-pipe and j-pipe at the same time, but the way things are going it might not be possible to do it all in one day.

sorry guys, no new solid intel on this. When i last spoke to marcus, which was last friday, he told me that his original fab guy is being weird with the flange that needs to be made so he is going to another guy and will get back to me sometime this week. Only thing is, after this week, I will be gone for 2.5 weeks because of my military duty. So, I don't really know what to say at this point and will try to find out more.

Marcus - I know Mike used to sell the ATLP mufflers independently for those that wanted to go custom. Since there are those that are waiting on a product that is taking some time to materialize and there are those of us that have the resources and the ability to go the custom route but want the ATLP tips, note etc... Will you offer up the mufflers like Mike used to?

sorry guys for not updating this, but I just came back from my FEX for the military and had no internet or anything.
So, I know a lot of you are getting discouraged by this and want to go XL8, and I don't blame you. I did speak with Marcus and we are setting up to meet and finish this thing. As many of you already know, we have the plans on what to do, our main Fab guy pretty much flaked on us and thats why Marcus is setting up with another guy.
We have basically what we need in terms of measurements and design, just need someone to make it. That is the info right now, and I will get in contact with Marcus again and make sure this gets off the ground.
Thanks for those who are waiting patiently for this, I know I have too. As soon as I know something, I will post it here right away. Thanks again!

Ok -- Question I know you're putting your car out there for R&D... and I appreciate that. But why doesn't Marcus come on and tell us these details. He has customers waiting... and waiting now for months. I know he's busy, and I know he can't spend all of his time on Azine - but a 5 minutes to give us a heads up would at least show something...

Agree. Take care of potential customers. Keep them informed, just like RonJon does. After all, they are where the revenue and the profit come from.
