Where'd it go????

I tried to check for the update this morning, as it was due July, and note that the site has been changed. Anyone know where to get the update now? Even Google doesn't seem to know (and Google knows everything).

Thanks, but that site only brings me to a page for the Nav disc...no gracenote.

Understand, I don't need it right this instant; my concern is that up to now, gracenote updates have been spotty, and generally very late, but they always come. I can't seem to even find it available anymore. The situation is the same for Honda.

Perhaps this is only a transition, until they gets some changes made to the website. But based on their reliability thus far, I'm concerned.

That's bizarre; I only get the nav page. Wonder if it has to do with US/Canada browser settings (autodetect)?

As for the Pioneer tag, I don't know. I'm not even certain if you can roll back to a previous version if it doesn't work.

I just did it on my 2012 TL last week. Never saw the "Pioneer" label until you mentioned it - must have just overlooked it. Once you start the download, the filename says "Acura_ILX_RDX_TL_JUL2015". I did not have any issues performing the update.

Turns out it is a Canadian/US thing. Not sure why, as the update is the same no matter what, but it appears it's not technically available for us up here.

For my fellow Canadians, you can go to the link above, click on the Canadian flag at upper ight, and choose the US site...that will take you to a page with the gracenote download link.

I did the install yesterday. Worked fine. No issues.

Good to hear that others are intalling with no problem; I haven't been as lucky. My option to update the G-note database is "greyed out". Clearly there's something wrong, but not with the update.

Sockpuppet< did you download and unzip the file? if not you'll need to unzip the file first then add to cd or flash drive then install. When I first tried to install what I thought was an unzipped version.....it turned out it was still zipped...

Thanks. Actually, the issue was the USB drive. it was formatted properly, but for some reason didn't want to work (in car). I dragged the files to a different drive, and updated without issue.

That said, out of about 20 or so unknown albums, it was able to properly recognize and tag precisely zero. Somehow, although one would think they are the same, the update for my wife's Pilot tags everything properly.

I have had the same problem with one USB drive not working but then it is fine with another one. Now I just always use the one that has worked for me.

Updating Gracenote database to 2015 RDX

For the life of me I can't update the entire database off the downloaded un-zipped files on a USB thumb drive in my 2015 RDX. It appears that one can only update a "no name" album this way. True??

I have a 2015 RLX and I CAN update the database on the drive. Anybody have any suggestions on how to stripe the HDD on the RDX?

PS: I'm in IT so if I can't figure this out, it's pretty sad.

I am not sure what you mean by, "how to stripe the HDD"?

Sorry. Overwrite the Gracenote database file with the new one.

I too have had trouble in the past getting a new Gracenote update to load. Others have suggested if you are using a thumb drive, the drive needs to have been formatted as a "full format" rather than as a "quick format". I have found that one of our thumb drives works for me every time now.

I wish that's all it was. It is formatted correctly and does update one album at a time. I was really trying to find out a way to update the entire Gracenote database rather than one album at a time. Can't find this set up. Dealer has no clue either. I CAN do this database replacement on my TLX, just not the 2015 RDX.

Don't bother with the latest update. The one that went live a few days back called "Acura_PI_Jan2016.zip", just contains the Acura_PI_Nov2015.zip file. I guess that passes for clever with the Gracenote people.

The latest update seems like a good one...caught about 8 "no title" albums on my HDD.

I snagged it and installed it, went from 15.x to 16.x

I don't use Gracenote at all (I don't use CD's) but I'm glad to have everything up to date.

For anyone interested, the latest Gracenote database update has been released. It can be had at The Official Acura Map Update Site. For my Canadian friends, if the link defaults to the Canadian page, you'll have to click the Canadian flag in the upper right, and choose the US site. Then scroll to the bottom. Next update is scheduled for October (but then, the recent release was due in April, so take with a grain of salt).

So I just tried to update my Gracenote software in my 2012 TL via USB and the Gracenot update option was grayed out. Any suggestions as to why it would be grayed to and can't be updated? I have the 2012 TL with Tech Package.

The system wont recognize some USB flash drives. For example, even though I can use a certain flash drive to play music I can't use that same drive to update Gracenotes.
I haven't been able to figure out what spec flash drive is acceptable. I suspect it has something to do with the type of file format and not the drive size.

Unless it is a USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0 incompatibility issue. I would investigate and troubleshoot more, but how often do you use CD's anymore vs streaming music feeds. Unless there is something else besides it being an artist database?

I tested 2 flash drives this morning.

Was NOT able to update Gracesnotes with: Flash drive, USB 2.0, 16GB, FAT32 file system.
(But I am able to play MP3 files from this drive plugged into the same console port)

Was able to update Gracesnotes with: Flash drive, USB 2.0, 2GB, FAT file system

Great... now I have to re-partition my USB to be under 4 Gb in order to format it to FAT instead of FAT32. I will update this forum once I test that path.

Well holy heck... partitioning my USB to be FAT instead of FAT32 did the trick. I was able to update my GraceNote via USB using this method below ->

I currently run version 18.x of Gracenote and am attempting to update to version 20.x and it isn't taking. Is that too large of a jump or are there incremental updates that I need to apply between those versions?
