I was wondering what that one inch affect the car, what problems would it bring? Thank you for the response.

it will be one inch narrow, will not look good on the car.

you are moving backwards.
you want to stay the same or move forward. never go backwards.

stock is 8 inch wide.
WHY!!!!! would you move to a 7 inch wheel?

in other words; follow the OEM!! Dont GO AGAINST OEM!

Agree. The stock tire size 235/45-17 is recommended to be installed on 7.5" minimum width wheels.
Also, the outside of the wheel will move inward @ 3/8".

Not saying it can't be done as many don't care about the wheel size, but I'd look for wheels at least 7.5"
wide and an offset <39mm which would put the o/s in the same location as OEM.

More money and new tires would be needed, but might want to look into the Momo 18"x8" +40 size

the TL is a mid-powered FWD, if you stick on narrow wheels, you're most likely going to stick on narrow tires....
this will diminish power as your car will fight to grip.

it's a bad move.
you can move parallel, forward, and across, but never backwards!
the car is made for at least 8 inch wide wheels.
follow the OEM specs!!!

wheels come and go....
you think you have a deal, price wise....but in reality, those wheels do not fit the TL well.
so, no deal.

@justnspace and @turbonut thank you for the help and info. Let me explain why the awakard question, I got a great deal on the momo wheels. I will admit I jumped the gun to quick. I got th set of wheels for $310, they have a lilltle curb rash they aren't bent. These wheels run for $1600 new, so I figure if they don't work out for me I'll sell them in Craigslist.

Do the Craigslist flip method!!!
would be cool to see you flip or trade them for a better set, until eventually you have a set you want!!!

Wheels come and go.. It's a better deal to find the right specs at a fair cost
