Suspension Recommendation

Hey everyone, thanks for reading. I got a 07 TL-S that I have driven for 3 years and want to have all four suspensions changed. Before I replace them, I want to ask couple things:

what brand do you guys get?
Where do you buy them specifically?
how much is the fair price?

I am not looking to lower it or anything, just a brand new suspension so I won't feel like I am on a boat and it is safer. I did search for it but can't seem to find the answer I am looking. Please advise, thank you all for the recommendations.

You can't beat OEM for this.

DelRay Acura is your source.

We recommend the Tein Basis Coilover for an all around great option. If you ever decide to adjust your ride height your all ready to go. You will also have a comfortable ride without costing you an arm and a leg. We do have these in stock and ready to ship.

Go OEM if you don't want a drop. I have TL A-spec on my TL and like them, to bad they are discontinued :/

What is the A-spec part number? Will try to find.

I did find OEM for $102 each for the front which seems like a really good price. I'd be inclined to stick with OEM unless I knew of some other better option (which I don't).
OEM shocks Are these A-spec? I typed in for an S-type, but not sure they are really for that model or if an S-type was even really any stiffer.

I'd also be interested in the ST suspension or KW coil over options if available.

Depends on your budget and what you want to get out of the modification! stock height or lowered, dampening adjustability, etc.

Simplest solution: Replace all 4 shocks (aftermarket or OEM), front lower control arm bushings with OEM replacements. KYB makes good aftermarket shocks that meet OEM specs. The acura shocks are really good as well, but for the price you can do better. I purchased used shocks from the blackmarket section for around $100 for all 4. Look and you may be rewarded! Type-S is firmer than 04-06 but less firm than A-Spec. TL-S shocks have a higher failure rate than the 04-06 shocks.

Solution #2: Replace all 4 shocks and springs with the TEIN SA (About $600 shipped). You'll be able to lower the car, have 30+ adjustments for dampening. Also recommend replacing the front control arm bushings!

Solution #3: Replace all 4 shocks with koni yellows and reuse your factory springs. You get a little bit of adjustment with the konis as far as dampening goes and they have a lifetime warranty. Downside is the $800+ price tag for just the shocks. If you want to lower, you can go with aftermarket springs such as Eibach, H&R, RSR, etc.

Solution #4: Replace all 4 shocks and springs with BC racing coilovers. These are custom built so you can get custom spring rates for your ride (harsher or softer). As well, the shock is fully adjustable so you can SEPARATELY set height and dampening. With the Tein's they are related so as you raise/lower the ride you'll have to redo the shock dampening. BC sells all the parts for it's kits so you can fully rebuilt your setup when the shocks wear/fail.

In my opinion, most folks are fine with solution #1 for everyday driving. Option 4 is the best option for longevity, saftey and "bang for the buck".

All Tein coilovers for the TL only have 16 dampening. Its always better to get a stiffer ride than have a softer ride. I had BC with my dampening at 15 and felt like driving a TLS

What do you mean by adjusting "dampening" ... there's two sides to a shock... Compression, and Rebound.

Would be cool to get something with dual adjustability (i.e. being able to fine tune adjust rebound as well as compression!).
Most of these I've seen you can only adjust rebound.
What are the adjustments on the Tien SA for?? Koni yellow you will only adjust rebound I think, not compression, but I could be wrong.

I'd probably opt for TL S-Type or A-Spec OEM shocks. I saw price of about $100-115 per shock which seemed really good to me.
