Strange tire wear for 3G TL?

Strange tire wear for 3G TL?
Good morning! As I was returning to my car this morning from my favorite breakfast joint in Memphis I noticed (because I had cut my wheels all the way to the left when I parked) that's the front passenger tire inside was worn to the threads! What? The drivers tire wasn't as bad. I've noticed that the outside of the tire seems to wear faster than the middle which I at first thought was strange.... I keep about 34psi in them. I would have looked at the center of the wheel and said I had a few more miles to put on them before a new set but the inside corner of that wheels is a goner! Anyone else experience this? In my past tires have worn more uniformly. Is this due to cornering? Camber issue? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance!
Actually camber doesn't make sense cause it's wearing both inside and outside...

When's the last time you got an alignment?
I read that type of wear may be caused by underinflation.
Your tires need to be replaced asap for safety.

alignment issue, i had the similar issue aftyer 6 months of purchase but luckily the tire is on the way out so i replace all the tires and got it done.

Its not due to under inflation if op is at 34psi on average.
Its toe wear. As others stated you need an alignment. Often people not lowered think theyre fine but toe will get thrown off over time and the wrong toe setting will eat through tires as fast as camber wear... Or faster.

Inner wear because of incorrect Toe and possible failed compliance bushings. Outer wear is caused by the shitty tire that you have on there! I had them on my 760 and they did the same on the fronts, but I only got 12K life out of them and they refused to warranty the mileage since I had staggered setup.

I was going to comment on the outer wear as well. I first figured that wear was done on the inside and OP had the tires flipped. If not then thats crazy. Never seen tires wear on the outer edge like that.

Assuming these are Pilot Sport A/S+....since the OP has not confirmed....there are lots and lots of us that have seen this before on a perfectly aligned vehicle.

Rarely ever will just bad alignment cause wear on both the inside and outside edges of the tires. On my TL, I had the same exact wear on the inside/outside edges of all four tires. I had my Pilot Sport A/S+ on my car for less than 25k miles and the outer edges were bald while the center was barely worn. My alignment was spot on. I had those tires replaced with Primacy MXM4, no additional alignment or suspension changes, and I have over 35k miles on the MXM4 and they are wearing perfectly. I am guessing I am going to get probably 45-50k out of the MXM4 easily. I tend to replace my tires sooner than most...but if I were to run them to nearly bald, I would say that would be closer to 60-65k.
To the OP....if these are PS A/S+, it is more than likely just the tire. I would still get your various suspension components checked out just in case since we all know these cars can be very touchy when it comes to overall alignment.

The inner wear would be the toe and the outer wear is likely high speed stops which causes cupping and excessive wear.
Also, when was the last time you rotated your tires? You surely notice abnormal wear patterns if they were rotated at regular intervals.
I was washing mine the other day and noticed that my rears are essentially brand new and the front are beginning to wear. I need to rotate at the next oil change.

Actually Jon...that's exactly what the picture of an under inflated tire wear looks like at any local tire shop. Although now the actual cause has been found and it's just a bad tire!

Alignment and some quality tires and you're back on the road!

Sorry for the delayed response,
Thank you so much for the helpful comments and yes, those are Pilot Sport A/S, they were on the car when I bought it. I cannot imagine this is due to under-inflation- as I mentioned I keep all tires between 34 and 36 psi.
I am set up for an alignment and now I'm just trying to find a set of tires they will give me that balance between performance and miles driven, which is like trying to find a needle in a stack of....well, needles.
Any input on this would also be welcome!
thanks again

I'm sure if you had, that would have been the first thing you mentioned.

Definitely not due to underinflation but the diagram at all tire places shows outside edge worn, under, center worn, over...one edge will be either toe or camber or a combination.

Very common for this specific Michelin tire. I had the exact same thing happen and it had nothing to do with alignment, worn suspension, tire pressure, etc. There's a reason these are no longer available and replaced with something totally different (although the replacement has it's own issues!).

I have the same tires on my TL. The sidewalls on these tires are very weak so in order to compensate for that I have been running them between 42-44 psi. It is the only thing you can do to prevent this type of wear. I now have over 35,000 on them and they still look like I can get another 10-15,000 out of them. If I ran them at the recommended pressure of 32, they probably would have been bald in less than 20,000.

By way of update:
the car has been aligned (toe was only off by a few degreess) and a new set of Yokohama Envigors 245/45r17s have been set up. Only a few days in but they seem to drive well and pull on the road just as well as the last set. Pictures to follow.
Thanks again for all your upput, its great to have a place to ask questions where I can depend on getting good answers #acurazine
