Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires!
I just got these installed on the TL. Factory size, they were $144/tire at discount tire. Wow! What a difference. It really changes the car. Highway stability is extreme!!! It feels so smooth and planted. The response from the tire is unrivaled. As soon as you make an input the car changes direction, you really can't compare it to any other tire unless you've actually felt it and driven it for yourself. There is no hesitation on turn in. The car follows the input immediately. The traction is phenomenal as well. The traction control doesn't come on in first gear in a straight line at all.

I got the same Michelin Pilot Super Sports from Costco for the TL a thousand miles or so ago. They feel like they are slightly softer than the prior Potenza 960A/S Pole Positions and Advan S4s (both all-seasons rather than summer tires). I haven't noticed any difference in steering response (vs. the slightly softer feel, which is probably the sidewalls and newer/softer treads) yet, as the Super Sports are just scrubbed in and haven't been run hard.
The TL has always been pretty planted, with the OEM alignment.

Burning Brakes
When the day time temps average 45 degrees and below I switch to winter tires. The pilot A/3's are for light snow, like a fart of snow on the road from a snow man.
I have the Pilot Super Sports on my TL and they are much better so far compared to the old Conti DW

Those are all season tires...for winter you should use winter tires...

I just got a set of pilot super sports installed last night. Even though its supposed to take a few hundred miles until they are completely broken in, the grip is insane. With my last tires off the line I had wheelspin for days. These tires just hook up and go, and same with braking. I couldn't engage the abs no matter how hard I pushed on the pedal.
I love the tires so far, the only problem I have is that now they are revealing other things I need to upgrade. Brakes are definitely next on the list, and its only gonna be downhill from there. Better prepare my wallet.

Yeah, I'm in Connecticut, and I wouldn't dream of using all seasons on a car in the winter here. I use them on my MDX, but that's just because the huge tread on them. With the stock 17's on the TL theres physically not enough room to fit the tread needed for snow.

You can't really lump the entire state together as far as snowfall. NYC averages 28" of snow each winter, where as 5 hours up the thruway, Syracuse averages 117". Generally speaking, anywhere south of Albany gets little snow compared to the upstate thruway corridor due to lake effect. I get around 80" average, and I can get around ok on good all-seasons, although dedicated snows are always best.
