How to ship wheels ?
Does anyone here ever ship a set of wheels to another state ? If so, what's the proper way to do this ? Neither of us have the experience on it . I mean beside the materials you going to use , is there a quick quote that you can get from shipping carriers like UPS , FedEx etc ??? We are talking about the a set of 19" with tires.
Thanks !!

1. Visit a local wheel seller (preferably one that sells truck wheels) and secure 4 boxes big enough to fit each wheel/tire combo (hence the truck wheel seller).
2. Find someone you know that has a UPS business account. You can ship normal UPS, but it's going to be crazy expensive if you do, especially to a residence.
3. Make sure the address you're shipping to is a BUSINESS address.
Following these 3 things will allow you to ship the wheels properly, and for the best rate.

That's a pretty thorough write-up man, very good information there. But I think if you compare the prices, UPS business-to-business will be cheapest, but people may not always know someone that has a business UPS account.

I guess im that lucky person not knowing anyone who have the business account... but I kinda plug in the number from residential to residential (UPS ground) . It will cost around $65 for each wheels with tire ( I used 25X25x8 35lbs) so 65 x 4 = 260 . Again, this is 1000 miles away.

I second the post about finding a wheel seller and getting some boxes, but I shipped a set out not too long ago via Fedex Ground /Home. It was cheaper to box up each wheel, then tape / band two boxes and make it one package. Want to say it was like $50 per package to ship.

x3 for ShipNex. Shipped 4 OEM 17' TL rims in OEM boxes from ND to MO for ~$100. The total weight was ~29lbs each, but the boxes dimensioned out to 31 lbs IIRC, so weight is really irrelevant for 17" OEM rims.
ShipNex just contracts with one of the major carriers for less.
