2 or 4 wheel alignment?

With my current setup, I have a -1.7 and -2.0 rear camber with the HT-SPEC V2 coilovers. I plan to install the ingalls rear camber kit to get it back to manufacture specs and wanted to do another alignment afterwards, but only for the rear 2 wheels. Is it necessary to do all 4 wheels again? Or just to have only my rear wheels aligned since I'm only adding the camber kit to the rear.

Technically you can just do the rears. Depends on who you go to. -1.7/2.0 isn't so bad. Coilovers usually mean factory specs are out the door though.

I would skip the camber kit if I had those numbers.

^what he said. that camber is fine. it's the TOE that is important. get that as close to ZERO as you can.

There have been a few that have out of spec camber with the factory suspension, so camber is fine only if it is in spec as any out of spec camber will wear the tires, and as the car is lowered the toe changes. If it goes on the rack have them do the entire alignment as it will be the same cost to do the set up.

during the alignment I did right after the new coilover install, all 4 wheels' toe were set to 0. I guess I'll take the advice here and not install the camber kit. Looks like I'll be posting my camber kit for sale on the black market today.

Yes, but what was the camber, and if it was in spec why did you purchase a camber kit?

extreme camber magnifies toe wear, when toe gets out of line.

to op, i dont think it will cost any different. why not just get it all checked out both times

Turbonut: my rear camber was out of spec after the coilovers. That is why I purchased teh camber kit initially.

Did see that you posted it was -2 degrees after the install, then you need to install the kit. It is true that out of spec toe will grind the tires down faster than an put of spec camber situation, but the key point is that the out of spec camber will still wear the tires on the inside albeit at a slower rate. I've said this many times, why pay the money to have the suspension changed and leave the car out of spec. Most don't want to spend the money on a camber kit, but you have the kit so do the install and have it set properly, unless one likes the looks of negative camber.
