Troubleshooting P0134 Code on 2006 TL

Hi all,

We have a 2006 TL with 125k miles, just started showing P0134 code for "No Activity on Bank 1 Sensor 1"

I swapped the bank 1 and bank 2 upstream sensors, cleared the code, after 4 drive cycles got P0154, "No Activity on Bank 2 Sensor 1"

The problem moved with the sensor so I was pretty sure it was the sensor that was originally in Bank 1 causing the problem until I learned that these sensors are not the same.

Now I'm concerned that the new P0154 code may be because I have the wrong sensor in Bank 2.

Any thoughts?

Quick follow up post that may help someone else. We swapped the sensors back to their original positions and replaced the bank 1 (rear) sensor with a new one, haven't had any more codes in a couple of weeks.

Think about this...if you have the wrong sensor on bank two, then you also have the wrong sensor in bank 1. If there is no code for the other sensor, then I'd say you need a new O2 sensor. The sensors are going to be the same internally. The difference may be in wire length, exra insulation on wire, a retaining clip to hold connector out of the way...etc....something cosmetic.

Can't get any help on the subject in other threads. You seem to be be the only one with actual I'll ask you, experience on the topic and success.

I have the Bank 1 cylinder 1 /p0134 error message just like you. Can you tell me (or snap a photo) of the sensor's location? I just bought an NGK PN24302 and am hoping this is the right part #.

I'd appreciate it.

Since no one was able to help, I made a little video myself on how to execute the upstream O2 sensor. Enjoy.

Thanks! I realize this is 3 years old, but I've got to replace this sensor and this video is just what I needed!
