2004 TL 6MT Clutch Issues

I posted this in the wrong place the first time...I have a 2004 TL with a 6 MT and 220,000 miles. The clutch is engaging in different places. I notice it when stopped and when it engages with the pedal much closer to the floor than expected. I took it to my local Honda dealer who said to replace the clutch, but it is not slipping. While I do not disagree that a vehicle with 220,000 likely needs a new clutch after this many miles, I had not heard of this symptom before. Any help is appreciated.

Its most likely a bad seal in the clutch master cylinder causing you to slowly lose pressure. You need a new mc and they are fun to do. Get someone with small hands to do it. I have big hands and did mine under one hour but it was a pita.

If you do need to replace the clutch, go to rockauto.com and get the LUK brand clutch kit AND flywheel. OEM parts without the Honda name on the package, and most of all, WITHOUT the insane prices!

Experience has taught me to replace both at the same time.

if you want to know if it is the clutch for sure put it in 4th gear and stomp on the pedal. See if it grabs or if it just rev'ing up
